ABSTRACT
The projects issue is: Greenhouse Automatically Managed by PLC and communication with GSM
modem.
The purpose is to simulate with a model the function of a Greenhouse. The basic automation is
controlled by a PLC. Two analogs thermosensors were made and placed inside and outside the
Greenhouse.
Depending on the values of the inside temperature and the outside temperature the roof is
opening or closing automatically, plus a system is activated to wrap and unwrap a special tent on
the roof to make shade. Other functions are the automatic watering and heating. In addition on
this project a GSM modem is used to communicate with the PLC and be informed anytime by SMS
on mobile phone for the functional situation in the Greenhouse, for example the interior
temperature or to active an output.
This installation is very useful and easy to supervise from distance. Of course is ideal to manage
and save energy better with low cost.
