AF40. The value of SGR followed the same trend similar to weight gain and showed hig
SGR with diet AF45 (2.36:0.05% day”') and lowest value SGR was recorded with diet #
(1.56+0.05% day"!). The Survival percentage was also found to be highest for AF45 with
survival.

Successful spawning of pond reared silver barb, Puntius gonionotus (Bleeker
observed at different temperatures (21-26°C) and high altitude (900 m) by using bow
pituitary extract, ovatide and ovaprim as stimulating agents. Carp pituitary extract wae
found suitable for breeding with a dose ranging from 2 to 3 mg/kg in male. In female. =
dose of 2-3 mg/kg and a second dose of 5 to 6 mg/kg were found effective. Ovapr=
found suitable with a dose ranging from 0.2 to 0.3 ml/kg in male, while females requ
to 0.6 ml/kg. Ovatide was found effective for breeding with a dose ranging from 02
ml/kg in male and 0.4-0.6 ml/kg in female. Successful spawning took place within =
of 10-12 hours. Ovulation percentage varied between 41-60%. Percentage of ferti
varied between 64-75%. The incubation periods was found to be about 18-20
Percentage of hatching varied between 44-55%. The spawn were stocked in ceme:
nursery Tank (PNT) @ SO/| and 65% survival was recoded after 10 days of rearime
early fry were subsequently reared in nursery tank (NT) for 20 days with a stocking
@ 1/4 liter up to advanced fry size. The fry were then transferred to rearing tank (RT)
stocking density @ 1/30 litre and reared for 40 days up to fingerlings size. In the Nu
rearing tanks, average survival percentage was 72.0 and 78.0 respectively. The
survival percentage of spawn after sequential rearing in PNT, NT and RT was about
at final stages of fingerlings.
