PERTINENT TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Spring 2013
East Garfield Elementary
-Steubenville, Ohio
-Kindergarten
As a first time aid in a classroom setting, I assisted the teacher twice weekly
at four hour increments in a Kindergarten classroom. I completed lesson plans
while correlating them to the Common Core State Standards and did weekly
reflections for my time in this classroom.

Fall 2013
East Garfield Elementary
-Steubenville, Ohio
-First Grade
As a second time aid in a classroom setting, I choose to follow my students as
they progressed from Kindergarten to First Grade. I saw and documented how

my students blossomed, struggled and learned copious amounts of new

information. I saw progressive development in their cognitive, social and
emotional intelligence.

-Math Tutoring
Throughout the semester I individually tutored two children who struggled in
math, twice weekly for about 45 minutes each session. I implemented a
majority of the strategies taught in class (helpful manipulatives, teaching a
foundation of skills/strategies & etc.) into the tutoring sessions.

Spring 2014
East Garfield Elementary
-Steubenville, Ohio
-Reading Tutoring
Throughout the semester, I enjoyed the presence of two students whom I
aided in learning to read, these children were in second and third grade
classrooms and still struggled with Phonics. Throughout the semester, I
tutored these two young children as they progressed from phonemic
awareness, to blending, to fluency and comprehension.
Fall 2014
Elementary School
Gaming, Austria
-First Grade Classroom
In this particular semester, I was given the wonderful opportunity to shadow a
bi-lingual teacher in all German-speaking first grade classroom. It was an
experience that was true to its form, I learned how Austrian students learn
and progress through school, in first grade we covered the entire alphabet.
And the students learned a couple of English words by the end of the year.
Spring 2015
East Garfield Elementary
-Steubenville, Ohio
-Success for All Tutoring
After returning home to America, I became certified in Success for All (also
known as SFA) Tutoring in Reading, I was able to work with students with a
scripted lesson plan catered to their needs in reading; whether it be
comprehension, phonemes, fluency. All of the activities and games in this
tutoring session were pre-planned according to how the child performed on
their assessment.
Fall 2015
Weirton Elementary
-Weirton, West Virginia
Preschool
In this particular early experience, I was placed in a variety of special
education preschool classrooms where the students range from low to high
functioning, and were a joy to be around. I was able to observe diverse
classroom teachers and their different adaptive behaviors, communication
and social skill strategies that they used to improve their students with their
significant learning challenges.
Indian Creek High School
-Wintersville, Ohio
High School
For this tutoring occupation, I was implanted in a high school, and was able to
create custom lesson plans for my two students, whom I met with once a

intervention strategies for adolescents who struggle with reading.
