Music Genre Research Project

Choose from one of the following Genres:

Activity: Students are assigned to groups of 2. Each member will be responsible for half
the project. Split jobs in 2 to make equal work:
Locate and create biographies of 3 artists of the Genre.
o Include pictures and music representations.
Create a PowerPoint or Storyboard or some form of presentation for representing
the Genre.
Define instrumentation used for the Genre
Provide an analysis of the Form and Structure used to create the music.
Present the data to the class. (each presentation should last at least 10 minutes)
Create a song within that genre using any program discussed so far this year. Song
must include the following:
o Genre structure
o Genre instrumentation
o Explanation of choices made and why they fit your Genre
o 1-2 minutes long
