the1100subscriberstoournewsletter.Iexpecttobemorefocusedthisyearon
whatwearedoingandlessaboutthepast.However,Idowanttosharewith

LeanSEisanemergingareaofinterest.
ForMembership:
35%ofrespondentsheldtheCSEPCertification.
37%ofrespondentshavebeenmembersforlessthan4years.
In2014,118newmembersortransfersfromotherchaptersweregained.
Responsetotrainingcourseswashighwith65%showinginterest.
Only11%expressedinterestinrunningfortheBoardofDirectors
(BOD)while50%showedsomeinterestinservingasanassociateBoard
Member.
IhopethatthisinformationhelpstoclarifythebasisonwhichtheBODplans
tomoveforwardandalsotoserveasabenchmarkforourpastachievements.
Beforeclosing,Iwanttosharethemostimportantmetricwecurrentlyhave
our7%solution.InayearwhenmostINCOSEChaptersintheUnitedStates
haddecliningmemberships,Chesapeakegrewby7%.Ourmembershipin
December2013was375andinDecember2014,402.Thismeansthatthe
numberofdepartureswasexceededbytheinfluxofnewarrivals.Thankyou
allforcaring,participatingandmakingussuccessfulbeyondexpectation.

challenges.Thegirlsalsolearnedcorevaluesrelatedtoworkingwithothersin
arespectfulway.Thegirlsselectedtwoprojectsrelatedtofindingawayto
helppeoplelearnaboutsomethingbetter,hencetheteamnames.Meetings
wereheldeveryotherSaturdaymorning,SeptemberthroughJanuary,atthe
BaltimoreheadquartersofGirlScoutsofCentralMaryland.Theteamsplaced
5thand8th,andtheBullyBusterswontheCoreValuesaward.Itwasgreatfun
forthegirls,thecoaches,theparents,andtheWISEmentors.Lookforafull
