Abstract

Our group has selected a suitable study field for this research which located at
Taman Tasik Perdana. Taman Tasik Perdana is situated 3.2 km from Methodist Boys
School Kuala Lumpur. The objective for this research is to study of the effect of edaphic
factors on the distribution of plant and soil organisms in Taman Tasik Perdana.
From our study, we required to determine some physical factors which related to
the distribution of plant and soil organisms. Physical factors such as texture of soil, water
content of soil, air content of soil, organic matter which contains in the soil and pH value
of soil. These factors might be affected the distribution of plant in Taman Tasik Perdana.
Our group has chosen three different zones in Taman Tasik Perdana which were labeled
as Zone A, Zone B and Zone C to conduct the determination of physical factors.
On the other hand, certain calculation and technique such as soil sampling
technique and quadrate technique were used by our group to collect the data. During this
study, it offers us an opportunity to learn the basic principles of qualitative ecological
study.
