Swapping Procedure

• Transmission Shifting

 Transmission shifting involves:

 Shifting of Siemens MW PDH Radios modems from Indoor shelter to Outdoor shelter

 Connecting all the Siemens MW PDH Radios equipment as were in Indoor Shelter
(Cross-Patching Radios)

 Connecting IF cables b/w MW Dishes and Modems (SRAL XD)

 Loop-Testing to check Transmission media and PCMB

 Patching 2 E1’s b/w Flexi BTS and MW radios (One E1 for 900 and one for 1800 band)
• Flexi BTS Installation

 Flexi BTS installation involves:

 Outdoor shelter as Flexi BTS is Water Proof, Temp resistant up to 50 degree C


(approx)

 Connecting of TRX’s with Duplexers (ERGA Duplexer for GSM and ERDA Duplexer for
DCS)

 Connecting ESMA with Duplexers (and ESEA for extended TRX’s) (ESMA/ ESEA are
its processors)

 Connecting power cables to Duplexers, TRX’s and ESMA

 Performing VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) testing of Feeder cables to check
cable faults

 Connecting Feeder cables to Flexi BTS via jumpers to adjust Feeder cables length

 Alarm Patching

 Powering Up
• Flexi BTS Commissioning

 Flexi BTS Commissioning involves:

 Connecting to Flexi BTS to laptop

 Configuring TRX’s and Sectors via Flexi BTS user interface

 Configuring Abis Plan via same user interface

 Cross-Connections b/w Flexi BTS and Siemens MW PDH

 Cross-Connections changing from Siemens BSC to Nokia BSC

 Loop-testing to check Transmission media and new ET at Nokia BSC end
