> Plan for the day: Stream clearing up mauka (weeding/brush clearing)
Purpose: Restore native Hawaiian vegetation of riparian habitat in upper He’eia Stream. In addition to
reforesting with native vegetation, the project includes installation of erosion control techniques to
address eroding stream banks, and monitoring water quality pre and post project implementation. In
the future, community groups will be able to utilize this project as an educational experience.

What to Bring: Refillable water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, gloves, insect repellant, shoes/boots/tabis, change of
clothes, towel, good energy, and a smile :)

LOCATION & PARKING:


Driving on Kahekili Hwy., turn mauka
onto Kahuhipa Street. Turn left onto
Kuneki Street. Continue up Kuneki, 46-403 Haiku Rd.
road will bend to the right, keeping go-
ing until the end. Turn right onto Ha’iku Kane’ohe, HI 96744

way and park down there or along upper
