History
Started in 1989 by the National WildLife Ferderation, the Campus
Ecology Program was created to get colleges involved in Earth
Day. In just a couple months the program had been established in
order to get college campus leaders involved and to develop the
necessary resources. Today the program is alive and strong,
continuing to grow and reach out to more college communities to
help improve their sustainability efforts to protect wildlife and
their habitats.
What We Do
The Campus Ecology Program seeks out to celebrate campus
leaders who help advance environmental, social, and economic
sustainability. There are many different types of opportunities to
help the environment such as:

Chill Out Competition
We want to help and encourage campus leaders to emerge and to
made strides for a better world ecologically and to give them the
guidance necessary to achieve that.
Our Successes
We have made many strides with our collaboration with the youth
who is dedicated to the cause of the environment. Reaching
about 1,000 campuses each year, we continue to branch out to
help more colleges
and universities
achieve success. The
Campus Ecology
Program takes pride
in the
accomplishments
these communities
have achieved
through our
program, one of
them being The
American College
Researchers & UMBC scientist collaborate 1

Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). Achieved by many of
the student leaders in our program in an effort to get clean
energy on campuses and create more energy efficiency through
this formal initiative.
