------------------------The Can On Assignment
Agents G & T are portraying a husband and wife on vacation to Brazil. Their miss
ion is to recon a lumber yard and a train terminal, and extract a contact -- it
should be a cakewalk, but you never know...
They cannot afford to appear as anything other than their cover when passing thr
ough the airport. The week prior, they load their Can and see it aboard a contai
ner ship. They deplane in Rio, have a pleasant day or two on the beach, then (af
ter a phone call from the hotel bar to the shipping company offices to verify th
e Can's delivery and its arrival at a satellite storage yard at the port), they
"go off to see the sights".
However, things do not go as planned -- their contact advises them that a high-v
alue target is being held in the lumber yard, and is about to be moved...they wi
ll need to go in hard to rescue her. After a late-night visit to the Can to retr
ieve three suppressed MAC-10's and the Nagant's, the three hit the lumber yard a
nd rescue the HVT, while laying waste to a dozen cannon-fodder. But the HVT is i
n bad shape, and the original contact to be extracted is wounded.
G & T get them back to the Can, and T uses her limited medical training to stabi
lize them, while G uses the sat phone to report in and ask for backup.
Agent S, who is supposed to exfil out of Brazil following a different mission, r
eceives a call at his hotel from his control officer - he checks out as normal,
but heads to the storage area instead of the airport. S, while not a doctor, is
an EMT/Combat Medic/Corpsman - he slips into the container; G & T seal the three
inside, and slip back to their hotel, flying out the next morning.
Meanwhile, the Can is loaded onto a container ship, with S reporting the conditi
on of the HVT every 12 hours via sat phone. If the medical situation deteriorate
s, a US Navy ship "suddenly" stops the container ship in international waters, "
searching for drugs/WMDs/terrorists/etc", and extracts S and the others while th
e container ship's crew are sequestered where they cannot view the extraction. T
he container is unloaded normally in Charleston, where it is signed for by anoth
er Agent, and trucked to an Agency warehouse for reconditioning.
G, T and S are all debriefed, and move on to their next mission[s].
