2016 College & Job Fair
Greenville Technical College will sponsor a "College Fair" at
Brashier Middle College on Thursday, February 18th from 6
pm - 8 pm. The College & Job Fair will take place in the
gymnasium. GTC college departments will be on hand to answer
questions about programs, honors programs, and advanced
programs such as the BMW Scholars Program, GE Program and
Mechatronics. This is a great opportunity for students who are
interested in learning more about Greenville Technical College
and for students considering 13th year.

Looking for a summer job? In addition the fair will have several
vendors from the Upstate looking for new employees. Students can pick
up applications for employment and get more information about the
benefits offered to student employees of these businesses that include
scholarship opportunities.

ACT WORKKEYS - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2016


The ACT WorkKeys is a job skills assessment. ACT WorkKeys
assessments measure the cognitive ("hard") and non cognitive ("soft")
skills needed for success in the workforce.

TESTING
FOR ALL
JUNIORS

"Hard Skill" Assessments: Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology,


Business Writing, Listening for Understanding, Locating Information,
Reading for Information, and Workplace Observation.
"Soft Skill" Assessments: Fit, Performance, and Talent
All Juniors will take the ACT WorkKeys on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
Testing will begin promptly at 8:15 AM. Students will be emailed testing

Just Announced! All Juniors will be administered the ACT on
Tuesday, April 19, 2016. More information to follow.

College 101 Night

IGP PREPARATION
The GTCHS School Counseling Department will prepare students
for their annual Individual Graduation Plans (IGP's) through
advisory beginning February 29th. The IGP is a career-focused
tool to aid students in expressing career goals and identifying the
necessary educational steps to attain those goals.
Students will present IGP material to parents during Student Led
Conferences on Friday, March 18, 2016.

HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION - MARCH 7-11, 2016


This year GTCHS students will register online using the
PowerSchool Parent Portal. Beginning March 7th a link will
appear on the left navigation menu titled "Course Registration."
Students and parents will have the opportunity to select core
academic and elective courses. The registration window will close
at 3 PM on March 11, 2016.
Registration material (course catalog, guides, etc.) will be
published to students via email no later than Monday, February
22, 2016.
COLLEGE REGISTRATION - MARCH 7 -17, 2016
Rising Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students at GTCHS have
the opportunity to enroll in Greenville Technical College classes
each Fall, Spring, and Summer. Students must meet all
requirements prior to the registration period that include
qualifying Compass scores, Computer Readiness, and course
prerequisites. In addition students must be in good academic
standing (have a 3.0 GPA or higher for Juniors and Seniors and a
3.5 GPA or higher for Sophomores), and have submitted all
required paperwork by the deadline indicated by the GTCHS
School Counseling Department.
College courses will be listed in the registration system for
students to select. Please understand that if a student selects a
college course in the registration system, he/she must complete
the required college registration paperwork by the set deadline. If
a student fails to turn in college registration paperwork on time,
the course request will be deleted and the student will be enrolled
