Mosholu Camps mission is to offer children a memorable summer of excitement.


By offering our campers a traditional summer camp with a strong emphasis on the
development of new relationships and experiences, Mosholu Camps strengthen
each campers confidence while developing their social, athletic and academic skills.
Our professional staff is a spirited group of counselors from the fields of education
and social work. Our camper to counselor ratios enable each camper to receive
the individual attention they deserve and ensure, simply, the best summer camp
experience.

PARENT ORIENTATION

This year we are offering two orientation possibilities; an evening general orientation at MMCC, 3450 Dekalb Ave in the Bronx
and a weekend afternoon at the Mosholu Day Camp, 261 Arden Valley Road in Harriman State Park.

Norwood campers have a fantastic and memorable summer developing new


experiences. They participate in Instructional swim, Boating, Archery, Nature,
Pottery, every sport imaginable, special events and more! There are two fun-filled
evening events, BBQs, Smores and our Apache campers are even featured in a
Broadway styled production.

Young Blazer campers spend three days a week at our campgrounds and enjoy
two days of quality trips. Trips include beaches, state parks and water parks. The
campers take part in optional over nights and a three day sleep over experience with
late night trips, pizza parties and more. There is even an elective program, where
campers can choose their own activities, special events and sporting events.

SUNSHINE

Blazers will enjoy three trips each week, overnights, special events, sporting events
as well as two days of our traditional camp program at the campgrounds where they
take part in activities that include sports, arts, nature, dancing, archery, boating
and more. They participate in an elective program where they choose their own
activities and a fantastic swim program. Trips include beaches, state parks, water
parks and a three day sleep away experience filled with adventure challenges,
parties and amusement.

Our fully mainstreamed special needs program serves youngster who demonstrate
developmental disabilities currently in Kindergarten to 10th grade (ages 5 - 16) who
can benefit from an inclusion setting. This program offers close counselor to camper
supervision. An interview is required.

Terms of Enrollment
1. How to Register Just fill in the registration form and mail
or bring it to MMCC, 3450 Dekalb Ave. Bronx, NY 10467.
A $400 deposit per camper is required. Registration may also
occur online at www.mmcc.org however a service charge will
be assessed for each online transaction.
2. New Campers Campers enrolling in Camp Sunshine must
call the at (718) 882-4000 ext. 207 and arrange an interview.
3. Camp fees are not refundable except as follows:
(a) Before May 1 all camp fees are refundable except for a $25
service fee.
(B) From May 2 to 31, there will be a service charge of $50
per camper.
(c) All fees are due in full plus membership and registration by
June 1. No refunds after this date.

Our newest program provides our oldest campers with quality trips and age
appropriate activities. It is the perfect combination of a travel camp, sports camp,
arts camp, traditional camp along with a touch of sleep away. With trips throughout
the summer, campers will visit some of the areas best waterparks and adventure
venues. Teens will enjoy horseback riding, rock climbing, canoeing, zip lines, athletic
instruction from professional trainers, Broadway shows, inter-camp games, circus
training, cook outs, sleep overs, as well as an extended three day trip and even a
teen lounge of their very own filled with video games, ping pong and foosball tables.
Navajo campers will also take part in our Leaders in Training program offering them
hands on counselor training as well. This will ready them for employment as a
counselor in our next camp season.

4. There is a 10% discount for each additional sibling in a


family attending the camp.
5. Change of Sessions While we will attempt to make
changes in sessions, there is a $25 fee for this service
after camp begins in addition to the balance or difference
in the new season price. We will attempt to honor your
request based upon availability. A move from a full session
to half session or half session to 2 week session may only
be honored based on availability and will include a service
charge of $50.
6. Registration A camp registration is a reservation for the
agreed period. There is no pro-rating or refunds for missed
days for any reason. This includes days missed as a result of a
missing medical form or delayed payment. Keep in mind there
are no refunds for summer school.
7. The Center reserves the right to remove a child from camp.
In this case a pro-rated refund will be made with a deduction
for administrative expenses. In case a child is suspended
from a particular activity, or trip, there will be no refund.
Suspensions are made in the case of extreme behavioral
issues and imposed on the next day of camp regardless of
childcare issues.
8. Emergency Procedures Attempts will be made to call the
parent first, then, we will call authorities.
9. Transportation is included in the fee. There are centralized
pick-up points. We do not have door-to-door pick-up service.
At the end of the bus run, all campers who have not been
picked up will be returned to the Camp office and a late
fee will be assessed. Teen Adventure and Sunshine/ Teens
campers will be dropped off at their assigned stop and will
not be brought back to the office.
10. Those campers who use the center for evening drop off
must be picked up before 6:00PM. After this time, a late fee
will be assessed.

11. Personal Property The Center is not responsible for


damage or loss of property. There is no need for cell phones,
video games or individual music devices at camp.
12. A limited number of scholarships are available on the
basis of financial needs. Scholarship applications can be made
through the Main Office, (718) 882-4000. All information will
be kept confidential. They are only considered when a child is
registered in camp. Full scholarships will not be awarded. The
deadline for scholarship applications is April 12. Scholarships
are for full session only.
13. The use of drugs or alcohol is forbidden. There are also
no pets, personal equipment or weapons allowed in camp.
Violation of this policy will result in the removal of the
camper involved.
14. Groups are formed on the basis of age and natural
friendships. All campers will have an opportunity to meet in
their groups at a pre-camp orientation. We reserve the right
to change the campers group should we feel it is appropriate.
15. All activities and events are subject to change or
cancellation.
16. Campers with an IEP or special needs must make the
camp aware on the registration form. Failure to disclose this
information may result in a change in or removal from camp
program based upon the needs of the camper.
17. The camp bus is used to transport many children. It has
a specific time that it is due at the stop. The bus cannot be
made to wait for late families as this impacts the entire camp.
18. Medical Form A medical form, which will be given
to you, must be completed and given to us by June 1.
Department of Health regulations stipulate that no child
can attend camp without a completed medical form. Late
enrollments must still have medical forms in the office at least
3 days before camp begins, as it takes time to process. The
form must be dated within one year of August 18. There can
be no exceptions. Failure to hand in the medical form on time
will result in late charges or delayed start dates.
19. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that the
camp office is in possession of the medical form. We advise
keeping a copy for your records in case it is misplaced.
20. All payments must be made in full before June 1. Failure
to make full payment by this date will result in late charges or
delayed start dates.
THERE IS NO CAMP ON JULY 4TH
All discounts and scholarships including Early Bird specials are offered for
full season enrollment only.
Any change in sessions may result in a loss of scholarship or the forfeit
of a discount.
