DCIPS: Making Performance Management Work

Course Overview

The DCIPS: Making Performance Management Work course is a quarterly four-week

online course, hosted on the DOD IC learning management system (LMS) Advanced
Global Intelligence Learning Environment (AGILE). The course will use synchronous and
asynchronous capabilities providing an online collaborative environment suited for the
learning group (AGILE, 2011). The learner is introduced to DCIPS in the context of the
DOD IC and provided educational opportunities to successfully write appropriate and
effective performance objectives using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable,
Relevant, and Time-bound) framework.
This course will be available to new first and second year DOD IC employees who are
part of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). It will provide the
knowledge and skills necessary for employees to transition into, effectively navigate and
perform in the personnel system. The employee will be notified by Training via email of
selection for the course and initial instructions.
