Officer/Chapter Goals

Promoting membership education to both active and new members


o Continue to have rubies attend new member meetings with their pearls
o Encourage all members to attend new member meetings
Increases involvement
Allows actives to meet new members (potential littles)
***Motivating actives to come to new member meeting: next semester most girls will
have to have a pearl or two, so they will be there they need to be knowledgeable
about their responsibilities as a member beforehand so they can be good mentors for
new members

Further our knowledge and understanding of chapter operations


o At the beginning of every semester
explain participation requirements and expectations
have standards give a crash course on bylaws
remind girls about the master google doc
o Go over above items at chapter retreats as a refresher
o Go over standards processes at chapter or a new member meeting (personal
accountability/responsibility)
planning these as soon as possible, give chapter a months notice
o Send out new member meeting minutes with chapter minutes
o Send out information on major topics over winter break
i.e. weekly newsletter
newsletter topics: recruitment 101, participation (whats expected,
what happens when you miss events), statuses (explaining what
they are, and what you can and cannot do while on status),
create a questions Google doc where questions can be posted and
answered
discuss and explain answers to these questions at recruitment workshop
after winter break

Officer Expectations

Programming and Ritual-make sure calendar is set before school year starts
Working together to make sure we are not over-programmed
o Meet individual position deadlines
Standards-work on sisterhood ideas, sisterhood committee, feedback on what events
people want to see
Rely on committees to help out, theyre there to help
Have successful recruitment under time crunch
o Recruit new member class that represents our chapter values
o Making informed decisions while participating in recruitment
Being open to suggestions and listening to the ideas of others
Gold standard of commitment, leading by example
Practice what you preach
Maintaining a positive attitude
Emphasizing open communication
Foster a drama free environment
o Help in conflict resolution, approaching those who are involved, take it to the
woman before taking it to standards
Giving and also accepting constructive criticism
Demonstrating professionalism in chapter
o Writing reports down instead of reading them off of phones
o Knowing proper rules of order
o Looking put together
Send individual reports to Secretary at least 24 hours before chapter
Respond to emails in a timely manner
o If you cannot respond right away/do not have information, confirm that youve
received it and will get back to it as soon as possible
Utilizing district volunteers

Advisor Expectations for Officers

Let advisors know if you feel you are not being heard/understood by them
Reach out and work with advisors
Know advisor roles
o Presenting position-specific questions them
No secrets
Emailing/texting
o 9am-9pm window
o If it is something urgent, need to share that with advisors so they know to
respond quickly

Officer Expectations for Advisors

Challenge officers to make decisions instead of telling them what to do


Make sure everyone on advisory board is on the same page

o come to an agreement before presenting info to officers


Emailing
o General rule: 24-48 hours to respond
If you cannot respond/do not have information, confirm that youve
received it and will get back to it
Give feedback to officers after events-debriefing
Encourage members who are not officers to introduce themselves to advisors and feel
comfortable with them
Reach out to members at chapter meetings, check up on them
Give positive reinforcement to members-encouragement
If positions on advisory board that are not filled, have officers go to JV and Kiley (LC)
Consistency and support reliability
Have our backs even when things go wrong
Explain WHY we are doing things before doing them

Expectations for Officers and Advisors

Promoting respect
Texting/email expectations
o If you cannot respond/do not have information, confirm that youve received it
and will get back to it
o Reply-all to keep everyone involved
o Clearly communicate immediacy-place this in subject line
o CC any officers related to item
