Marking scheme for written work

1. Negative marking scheme:


For each mistake found in written work apply the following criteria:

Obviously we cannot rely on this criteria alone to obtain an accurate assessment


of students work, but if students are taught these symbols it enables them to
recognise their errors and makes marking quicker for the teacher.
Besides this objective marking scheme, we should also apply the following, more
subjective, scheme and make a balance of the two outcomes for a final result.
