I this presentation we will be telling you all about the different ages
and some important inventions from them.
Iron Age
The iron age began about 1200 B.C.E. This age was the
first of all ages. It replaces metals such as copper and
bronze. This age prevented people from moving so much.
Now settlements were permanent and farming was more
desirable. Some inventions are:
Alphabet- there is many different types of alphabets but this one was created
by the Phoenicians in 1000 B. C. this invention started writing in history being
used by scribes (professional writers.)

Water wheel- This invention made farming much more
simple. It fertilized crops with water by keeping a fresh
cycle running. It was created in 700B.C.
Iron-tipped plough- This invention helped people move their
herds of oxen. this helped movement and helped trade
throughout regions. This was invented in 440 B. C. by the
chinese there is no definite creator.
Windmills - They are important because it gives free energy from wind power,
which makes it renewable. Invented by the Persians A.D. 500-900. This invention
is still used today, and is very useful becuase it gives free energy. It is very
popular throughout the contries
Industrial Age
The Industrial Age took place from about 1750 to Early 1900s. The Age first Began in Britain but quickly
spread throughout the world. During this period many very important inventions were made, leading to the
modern technologies of today. Some important inventions from this Era include Powered loom, Steam
Engine, Railway system, Telegraph and Stock Exchange.
The Powered loom is important because it was the first piece of machinery used to manufacture goods.
The powered loom was among the first of commonly used machinery. It was used to weave cloth and it
drastically shortened the build time for clothing. In 1753 a British inventor named Samuel Comptons
invented the Spinning Mule which was one of the first versions of this.
Industrial Age
The Steam, Engine is important because it lead to the first locomotives.
This engine was used to develope trains, trolleys and very early cars.
Without the Steam Engine there might not be common locomotives.
In 1712 a Englishman named Thomas Newcomen developed the first
Practical Steam Engine.

The Railway system is important because it provided the first means of transportation long distances.
The railway system provided a means of transport across country and a way to transport goods like oil, iron and
steel. Without the Railway system it would have taken much longer to travel, or transport things. In 1830, the
first railway available to passengers became available at Englands Liverpool and Manchester railway.
Industrial Age
The Telegraph was the first means of immediate communication over long distances.
The telegraph was first to be available for long distance communication. Without the telegraph we might not have
the communication devices we have today like cell phones. In 1837 two British men, William Cooke and Charles
Wheatstone patented the first commercial electrical telegraph.

The Stock Market was the beginning of modern finances. The Stock Market allowed for investors to buy shares
of companies located all over the world. Without the Stock market, modern finances, many people would be in
very different situations. A stock exchange was established in london in 1770s and the New York stock
exchange was established in the 1790s

Information Age
The information age is the current age we are in right now. Machines
were invented that could process, store, and exchange data. These
machines have changed our generation.
Credit card- the credit card was invented by John Biggins in 1950. this
device was big because no longer people will have to carry money
around with them and have the chance of losing it.
World Wide Web- This was created in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee. The
WWW was big because it was a new form of internet that allows
documents to be connected to other documents.
Information Age
atomic bomb- This inventions was created in 1945 by Leo Silzard. This
invention changes the whole aspect of war. This was a huge part of WWII
and will always be dangerous to deal with.
Videotape/recorder- This invention was invented by Charles Ginsburg in
1956. This was the first thing to start movies and was a big part in
recording history.
Information Age
Email- This invention was made in 1971 by Ray Tomlinson. This
invention was big because it was one of the first way to
communicate through instant messages. This also created group
messaging which saved a lot of time for people.
Cell phones- Cell phones were probably the biggest invention in the
information age. They were created by Martin cooper in 1973. This
invention made talking on the phone able without have to be
looked to a landline. You could not move as you talk on the phone
while moving and be able to call from wherever.
