Mr. Ralph Gideon

He is the first speaker who shared his knowledge about the (Graphic
tools: Fundamentals of Design). He taught us what are the difference
between being an Artist and being a Designer. Also he told us about
something if Im not mistaken in the last part of his speech was A good
design needs focus and I really like that line. Im not really good in
designing or being an artist but I surely love arts but arts are not meant for
me. And Mr. Gideon was an alumni graduate of our school University of
Southeastern Philippines and taking BSIT course but BSIT was not really his
first choice because he likes arts. After he graduated in USeP he pursued Arts
and Design in UM. And hes now currently working in Ateneo De Davao as a
teacher.

Ms. Shannen Yu Spar

The next speaker was Ms. Shannen Yu Spar. She shared her knowledge
about HTML and how it works. She explained the difference between front
end and back end. The front end means, what you see in the browser or
visible whilst back end means, the hidden codes or what you dont see as

long as you know that it works but you just dont really care how it made or
how it works.

Mr. Nikko Comidoy

And the last speaker on that morning was Niko. He was a fresh
graduate from Usep. He shared his experience about technopreneurship and
he also gave us a piece of advice on how to pitch. He said that, when you
pitch you shouldve the confidence and you really love your idea.

Hackathon and Pitching Competition

After his speech we had our lunch inside the social hall. And after an
hour we started the part 2 of the program which is the hackathon and
pitching. The hackathon participants were placed at the back of the social
hall and the pitching participants were placed in the front of social hall. In the
hackathon competition there are 4 competitors and every group has 3
members. And the group of Aleonar, Dapal and Vivo won. They are the first
to finish the questions and they were able to answer all the 7 questions.
In the pitching completion, there are 5 groups and every group has 7 to
6 members. And each group every member must pitch in front of our assign
coach and after everyone has finish pitching the coach must choose 2
students for the final 10. And those 10 students that have chosen must pitch
in front for 3 minutes and has to answer the Q&A portion for 3 minutes also.
After the 10 students pitch in front the winners was announced. In the
third place, Sharlyn Yap. And second place was Nica Carcallas and the winner
was Queensyl. Everyone who won in the competition got money as a prize.

After the announcement of the winners, everyone helped cleaning the social
hall and some of us took pictures as a remembrance. I thank God, for that
successful event because without him everything will be impossible.
