__X__ growth in this standard _____ strength and competency in this standard Evidence to support attainment of this standard: Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard: An excellent way to deliver instruction that meets the needs of multiple learning needs of students is by connecting students prior knowledge, life experiences, and interests in the instructional process. My artifacts contain The One that Won, creating citizens in society, what is a verb? phone, cutting up magazines to find text and graphic features, I have a Dream writing activity, and a poster board of the executive branch of government. These artifacts are from many different content areas and lessons throughout the school year. The students participate in these different activities in order to connect to prior knowledge, life experiences, and interests in many different ways. Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better) The students enjoy when these activities are incorporated into the different content areas. I enjoyed using visuals and hand-on activities because it helps all learners in the class. These activities are engaging and all students are able to be included without fear or intimidation of failure. When reflecting back on the assessments within these lessons, it shows me that these engaging and hand-on activities are worth the time. It provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and experiences in a different way. I am going to continue to have instruction that connects with students prior knowledge, life experiences, and interests to enhance student learning.
