Abstract

'Manu' is an important legendary figure of Hinduism. It is a title given

to a progenitor of mankind. Its character also has close resemblance
with the character of the Prophet Noah. It is he who saved mankind
from the great flood after being warned by the god Vishnu and advised
of making a giant boat. This article aims to study the character of
'Manu' in Hinduism.
