Hi, Aunt Sally

How are you? Im having a great time! I cant believe todays my
third day at camp. Sorry I didnt write sooner. Theres internet
that we can use, but only from 121 p.m. Then we have lunch.
Mum writes every morning, but I dont always answer. There
arent many computers and we need to share them.
We usually wake up early, around 8 oclock, but today the first activity started at
10 oclock so I stayed in bed a bit longer. We went to the lake to go fishing this
morning. I loved walking there, and the fishing was OK. I wasnt lucky, but a friend
of mine, Zak, went back to the camp with three fish! Heres a photo of him.
We can do lots of sports, too, like tennis and volleyball, but I think art activities are
more fun. Theyre in the evening when its cooler and we usually paint or draw.
Sometimes its more creative, like learn how to make a monster with socks. Thats
on Friday. I cant wait!
Hows Uncle Tim? I think about him a lot because I play chess every evening. I can
play with him when Im back! Zak is a very good player and he says that Im not
bad. Oh! Zaks from France and we sometimes talk in French. I want to visit him
next year in France. Its time for lunch, Aunt Sally!
See you soon.

Fred Raymond talks

to Melissa Jones at
Wales Street Dance
(WSD), a dancing
school in Pembroke,
Wales. Melissa is a
teacher there, so lets
see what she says
about dancing and
teaching.

FRED Thank you for talking to We

Dance magazine, Melissa. Tell us
about what you do at WSD.

FRED You teach very young

children, aged two years old. Do
you like that?

MELISSA Thank you, Fred. I teach

children aged 12 or younger to
dance to different types of music,
such as street dancing, hip-hop,
pop and jazz. Im the headteacher at
the school, but there are three more
teachers who help me. I really love
doing my job.

MELISSA Im very interested in

these groups. Dancing can help
children when theyre growing.
Weve got stretch classes and
baby moves and parents are very
happy with them. Their children are
stronger and healthier because of
what we do here at WSD.

FRED What do you enjoy about it

most?

FRED Great! And what do you

enjoy doing in your free time,
Melissa?

MELISSA With this job, I can

dance every day and learn about
new artists and types of music.
When I was younger, I danced in
my free time, but now I can do it at
work, too. But what I really love is
working with children. Theyre fun
and very creative.

MELISSA My brother plays the

drums in a band and I like going
to his concerts at the weekends.
But Im usually busy, so I dont go
very often. When Im on holiday, I
like travelling around Wales. Its a
beautiful place.

For more information on WSD, call 07876 720 21 or visit their website.
