FAREWELL

Dear Parents,
My name is Kyrie Purdy and I am a student from the University of
Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). I am currently obtaining my degree
in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-6). I have
been interning at Rainbow in your childs classroom (Mrs. Bowens
room) since January. My last day at Rainbow will be Friday,
February 26th. I will be leaving to complete the other part of my
internship at another local school. Let me start off by saying that I
have thoroughly enjoyed the time that I have spent at Rainbow
with these wonderful third grade students. I am so thankful for
this opportunity that I have been given here at this school to
prepare myself for a career in education while I continue my
journey to become a certified teacher. Over the last two months,
we have been working hard in all subject areas Reading, Math,
Science, and Social Studies. In Reading, we read many different
types of text and we even covered poetry. In Math, we
strengthened our multiplication and division skills, and we even
started diving into Fractions. In Science, we went through a
skeletal system unit and even planted our own plants. In Social
Studies, we began talking about maps, and we are now finishing
up creating our own maps in collaborative groups. Over the
course of time that I have been at Rainbow, we have
accomplished so much, and I have been so proud of all of the
students. We have learned together, and I will never forget this
special milestone in my life and my career. Thank you for allowing

me to have the opportunity to work with and learn from your

child. I hope for success and prosperity in their futures and yours.
Sincerely,
Ms. Purdy
