Mr. Zachman created a wonderful learning atmosphere for his students. This is because he provided structure and high

towards individuals. Students were comfortable to ask questions as needed, because Mr. Zachman fostered a learning
experience that encouraged responsibility of their learning and working areas. This included providing students with routines

When observing Mr. Zachmans classes, all components of an effective lesson are evident. Objectives are posted and
Comment discussed with students; warm up is used, follow by a review of previous learning, before moving on to the lesson at hand. The
lesson pace is consistent and appropriate time is provided for each activity. Instruction is presented in clear and concise
manner to allow students to understand expectations. While teaching new concepts Mr. Zachman is responsive towards
students needs by answering questions and instructional adjustments when best. Students are provided deeper
understanding of material through teacher led discussion and questioning to check for understanding. Students were given
ample time to complete assigned activities and clear expectations of the final outcome. The instructor shall continue using
techniques as presented from the book, Teach like a Champion and including technology as appropriate.

Mr. Zachman models the professionalism that we like to see all staff to present. He has been a good leader for his
Comment department and collaborates with other departments. He had an excellent school year as being recognized as Frederick
County 2015 Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teaching award winner. In addition he has supported a number of other groups by
having his students cook and serve items at their events. Mr. Zachman continued to grow professionally by collaborating with
the Career Technology Center and Frederick Community College to align curriculum. He also supported school wide
initiatives and programs by joining the FHS Culture Committee, participated in a Career Day, CTE department chair, organized
staff lunches, breakfast, and catering.
