January 4, 2016 is the first day of the class and this is our first day of Field Study in this
year. I am so excited to go to San Ignacio Elementary School because I miss the students and the
teachers who are very kind to me.
I arrived in the school at exactly 6:35. I and my co-FS student helped Maam Recto in
cleaning her classroom. After that I helped the parents in sweeping the dried leaves that have
been fall during the Christmas vacation. Afterwards the bell rang as a sign for the flag ceremony.
So I went to the playground to help the teachers in assisting the students to fall in straight line.
Then after the flag ceremony all the students went to their respective room and I also went to my
assigned room which is the Grade IV. But before I entered Maam Calingasan the Grade II
adviser asked me if it is ok to me if a help her students to review for the coming MTAP Quiz bee.
I replied that yes it is very ok to me. She told me that the review will be after lunch and then I
went to the Grade IV classroom for my observation.
The adviser of the Grade IV students is Maam Mylyn Montealto. She starts her first day
by warmly welcoming her student and by asking her students about their Christmas vacation.
Then she starts her first subject which is Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao with the topic about the
promise of the students this 2016. She asked her students to share their promise to the class one
by one. The next subject is English, before Maam Montealto starts her lesson she asked first if
they already read the story of Ang Baka at Ang Kalabaw because their topic is this story and
she asked her students to describe the qualities of cow and the carabao. Then Maam Montealto
read the story aloud, later on she asked another students to read again the story. After reading the
story Maam Montealto discussed the topic about comparison and contrast using the story.
English is followed by Mathematics subject, she asked first her students about their previous
discussion then she open new topic. But when the students do their activities Maam Montealto
asked me to help her students to review for coming MTAP Quiz bee. So I helped her three
students to review, I do all my best just to help them. Our review last until lunch break.
After I ate my lunch, I went to Maam Montealto to say that Maam Calingasan asked to
review also her students. Then I went to Maam Calingasan to get some reviewer. We starts our
review at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon. At first my co-FS students help me to review the students
but she leaves me because she is needed in the Grade V classroom. So I also do my best to help
them all. Afterward when all the students are already go home Maam Calingasan asked me to
stop the review and she also told me to review her students again next Monday. Later on I and
my c0-FS students go home together with all the teachers.
This day is very memorable for me because it is another experience that I will treasure for
the rest of life. To review the two different grades for the Math quiz bee is very challenging
because we all know that all students has different level of understanding so in reviewing then
we need to have deep patience since sometimes they did not understand. All in all I think I do my
best just to help them. Im hoping that all of them win in the quiz bee.
