Activities:
Parents will learn hands on ways that they can
help children learn reading, writing, science and math.
Computers will be used to invite parents to experience free websites that
can be used at home.
Our Reading Specialist, Math Specialist and Social Worker will come in and do
workshops. Parents will leave with lots of materials and websites that they can use
at home. If you attend your child will receive 5 tickets for the next PBIS

To Whom It May Concern;
On February 19, 2016, Dawson at Scotland Neck Primary will be hosting a Parent
Workshop called Hands on Learning: How to help your child succeed in school.
The parents will get to learn from our Counselor, Reading and Math Specialist, Social
Worker by working with hands one material and on the free websites on the computers.
We are planning for 50 parents to attend. It is important that our businesses help
encourage our students and parents and let them know that we can make a difference
together.
We plan to have prizes and lunch for the parents. Please feel free to donate prizes or items
for lunch. Examples of prizes: gift certificates, gift sets, book bags, number cards, paper
for students, pencils, notebooks, reading books, Common Core Workbooks for Pre-K fifth
grade (dollar tree)etc.
Sample of lunch items: chicken wings, string beans, salad mix, ziti, bread, meat balls,
sandwiches, cake, cookies, water, tea and soda etc.
If your business is interested in helping out with this activity, please return this sheet with
the information of the items you will bring to the school on February 19, 2016. If you cant
bring the items we can pick them up.
