1FD:

Pizza Arte

Do you like seeing modern art? Do you like contemporary architecture? Ok, fine, how about pizza?
If you said yes to any of these questions, then you should sign up for this Pizza Arte! Mrs. Poirer and Mr.
Jergenson will be bringing a group to a few different places for Exploratory Day. We will start at the
Minneapolis Sculpture Museum, do a self-guided tour at the Walker Art Center, have pizza at Pizza Luce
downtown, and end with a quick tour of the Guthrie Theater.
Please join- it is going to be real neat! This is the 7th year of this trip!
Fee: $15

2FD:

Twins Territory

Did you ever wonder what goes on at Target Field behind the scenes? We have the trip just for you. We will
travel to Minneapolis for a day of touring the Twins new ballpark, Target Field. Some of the sites we will get to
see include the press boxes, fan suites, underground areas where the players walk around, and the Twins two
World Series trophies. Students will also attend a short class about the architecture of Target Field. We will be
eating lunch at the park, and students may also have the opportunity to visit the Twins Pro Shop. We will also
be walking to Macys to take in their 8th Floor Holiday Display.
Fee: $15
Lunch: Bring a bag lunch. We will be eating at Target Field.

3FD: Tutor Time (Community Service)
Want to help teachers? Do you want to help out elementary students? You will have the opportunity to go to either Big
Woods Elementary or Albertville Primary and be a teachers helper for the day. You will do fun activities with the
elementary kids all day long. You will follow them in class and to their specials, lunch, recess and any other activities
they may have planned for the day. What a great way to complete a community service activity, feel good about what
you are doing and have fun doing it.

Feed My Starving Children (Community Service)

Come on a service learning adventure that will make an impact on you for a lifetime! Students will be able to
help people less fortunate than themselves. From 8:45-10:45, students will make a project to be donated.
After eating lunch at the school; students, staff, and adult volunteers will be transported to the Feed My
Starving Children facility in Coon Rapids. We will work with this organization to package a nutritious, low-cost
meal that will later be distributed to starving children in extremely poor countries such as Ethiopia, Haiti, and
Rwanda.

Science Fun at Nickelodeon Universe

Are you interested in science and physics? If so, you are invited to explore scientific concepts involving theme
park rides that deliver white knuckle thrills in a safe environment. We will visit Nickelodeon Universe to
experience physics concepts in action. You will document your reaction to various rides so bring your pencil as
well as your nerves of steel.

Ferris-Muellers Day Off

Join us for a fun filled, yet educational day loosely based on the events in the movie Ferris Buellers Day Off.
We will travel to World Class Auto Body in Elk River where we will see how damaged cars are repaired and
painted. Next stop is Grand Slam Sports & Entertainment in Coon Rapids where you can play laser tag and
mini-golf, ride bumper cars, use batting cages, and play arcade games. We will finish the day at school
preparing a brief video documenting your day off. We may watch selected portions of the movie Ferris
Buellers Day Off. Since the movie is rated PG-13, we will need parental permission for you to watch it.
Fee: $17.00 for unlimited mini-golf, bumper cars, laser tag, and batting cage as well as four game tokens,
a hot dog and a pop.
Lunch: The fee includes one hot dog and a pop. Bring a lunch or lunch money if you want more to eat. (The snack
bar has pizza, hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, etc.)

7FD: Selfies with Senoirs


Are you the kind of person that enjoys putting a smile on someones face and taking a selfie of the memory? Come
along for the memory of a lifetime! We will spend the day celebrating and sharing our world of technology with
seasoned members of our community by spending the day at the Crow River Senior Center in St. Michael. Not only will
we be able to share the ways technology rules our world today, but we will also be able to ask questions of seniors
about what ruled their world long ago. We will play games with seniors, like cribbage, dominoes, and bingo. We will
even help serve and then enjoy lunch with them. We will create a poster of selfies to give to the Senior Center so that
they can forever enjoy the memories of our day together!

8FD: Bell Museum of Natural History

Imagine a place where you can find the answers to all your questions about the natural world! Join us at the
Bell Museum of Natural History and EXPLORE: *WONDROUS objects in the Touch and Feel Room
objects/organisms include a 10,000-year-old wooly mammoth tusk, a life-sized kodiak bear, a living and
moving amphibian or reptile, or even try on a 40-pound set of moose antlers!
*the AMAZING night sky in the ExploraDome- embark on a virtual voyage from the surface of the Earth
all the way to the edge of the known universe!
*VIEW internationally-renowned natural history dioramas- dioramas are three-dimensional models
representing a scene frozen in time!
*SPECIAL EXHIBIT-Peregrine Falcon: From Endangered Species to Urban Bird tells the incredible story of
raptors that were brought back from the brink of extinction!

Bowling and Pizza

Bowling and PizzaNeed I say more?


Have you ever wanted to learn how to improve your bowling game? Have you ever wondered how the scoring
works on bowling? Have you ever wondered how many pieces of pizza you could fit in your mouth at one
time? If you want these questions answered then come join Mr. Sartori and Mrs. Manthey at the River City
Extreme Bowling Center. We will start the day by learning and practicing how to score your own bowling
game. Then we will head to the lanes where we will have two hours of unlimited bowling! You will get plenty

of practice and tips, if you want them, on how to improve your game and knock down more pins. Then we will
be served some steaming hot, delicious pizza. Any remaining time can be spent in the arcade or playing laser
tag. It will be a PERFECT day for some PERFECT games!
Fee: $17.00 for 2 hours of unlimited bowling
Lunch: The fee includes as much pizza as you want

10FD: Monticello Community Center

Swim, run, jump, shoot! Get ready for an exciting day at the Monticello Community Center. Exercise and get
fit while hanging out with your friends. You can swim or enjoy some gym time playing basketball. Concessions
will be available at the Community Center. Please bring a cold lunch for the afternoon when we return. Kids
will be watching a movie when we return.

11FD: Winter Blast

Description: Lets get outside this winter and have a blast! Well learn how to snowshoe OR Nordic ski for half
of the day (students choose one) and go snow-tubing for the other half of the day at Elm Creek Park.
Fee: $26

Lunch: Bring a bag lunch! Well eat lunch picnic-style in the yurt at the park. You may also want to bring
money for concessions when we go tubing.

12FD: Ice-skating

Have you ever wanted to try ice skating? This is your chance! We will be skating inside the Historic Train
Depot, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking beautiful downtown Minneapolis. This activity is primarily
intended to be an open skate time for students who do not normally get the opportunity to get on the ice
(this is NOT an open hockey time). Students will have the option to get lunch at the Depot concession stand,
or bring their own sack lunch. You may bring your own skates. We will come back to school around 1:45 p.m.
and watch a winter-themed movie.

13FD: #PetUniversity!!
Do you LOVE animals? Have you ever thought about a career in working with animals? Join us for a fun day at the
Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley! We will be receiving a tour of the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley.
We will then attend an interactive class called Pet University, where we will learn about pet related issues (cost,
grooming, keeping pets healthy, and careers). After our morning at the Animal Humane Society, we will be enjoying
pizza and games at Chuck E. Cheese in Maple Grove. Finally, when we return to school, we will be discussing our day,
while making ping pong ball toys to donate to the Animal Humane Society. It will be a purrrrrrfect day!
Fee: $15.00 for the tour, class, lunch, and games (16 tokens) and bus.
Lunch: Students will receive 2 slices of pizza and a beverage at Chuck E. Cheese. Cost is included in the fee (above).

14FD: JumP Up, JuMp uP and get down!


Defy gravity at ZERO GRAVITY Trampoline Park. Youll be bouncing off the walls with fun! There are even
dodgeball and basketball trampoline courts available. Spend 2 hours flying through the air! Afterwards, be
ready to refuel with pizza at the Pizza Ranch in Elk River. Then you will be tired and full, so we will head back
to school to watch a movie to finish off the day.

15FD: Base Camp-The Adventure!


Push your body and mind to the limits! Feel the thrill of walking on a skinny rope 30 feet in the air
Join us for a day of adventure and fun at Minnesotas newest field trip destination-Basecamp; located near Fort Snelling.
Students will have the opportunity to rock climb, high ropes course, learn archery and complete other team building
exercises. This is our second year doing this activity and students raved about all the fun they had. We hope you can
join us on this trip of adventure, fun, and challenge!

16FD: The Force Awakens


You think you know the force? Meet with Jedi Master Gessner and Imperial Commander Livers to explore
anything and everything dealing with Star Wars. Compete with your fellow classmates to show your
knowledge of the force through multiple games and activities before traveling to the local cinema where we
will watch the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens. (PG-13) A pizza lunch will be included within the
total price for our activity. Please bring money if you wish to purchase snacks at the cinema. Costumes are
encouraged! (Please leave light sabers at home)

17FD: Team Building Challenge at Big Thrill Factory


Learn the importance of working as a team! We will start the day learning about the importance of team work.
Then we will compete as teams as you work through the Ropes Course, Time Challenge, and Lazer Tag Course.
When those competitions are done you will have time to go to the Arcade, ride the X-Motion Theater Ride, or
ride the Bump N Spin Cars. When we get back to school we will continue with some Team Building
Challenges!

We will eat our bag lunches when we return to the school.

18FD: Spooky Caves and Chuck-E-Cheese


Students will get to hear and see the history of the Wabasha Sandstone Street Caves of St. Paul. They will have the
opportunity to explore the original mined caves and see the finished caves. Students will learn about the
spooky legends of the mobsters and ghostly lore in the most unique setting from Chicago to San Francisco. After the
cave tours, we will travel to Maple Grove where the kids can feel like kids again by eating lunch at Chuck-E-Cheese.

19FD: Wildlife Science Center and McDonalds


Description: The Wildlife Center is mostly a care center for wolves, Lynx, bears, coyotes, and mountain lions. Prepare
your voices because we will be howling with the wolves. We will stop by McDonalds on the way home for lunch so bring
extra money for that or bring a bag lunch.

Volunteer your time ringing at the historic Salvation Army Red Kettle. After a short introduction, we will be leaving for
Coborns grocery store in Albertville to volunteer our time raising funds to support the Salvation Armys programs. Come
with a servant attitude and dressed: hats, gloves, and boots for the weather of an outdoor activity.

Water Wonderland Beach Party

If you are looking to have a WONDERFUL time look no further! Come join WATER WONDERLAND! We will
have a WONDERIOUS variety of WATER WHIMSICAL games galore! Your WISH for a WATER WONDERFUL
time will be granted if you sign up for WATER WONDERLAND! Bring a healthy snack!

4AM/4PM: Hooked on Shop

Love to build things? Sign up to get a small taste of building in the shop. We will be using power drills, and
sanders to build a coat hook, wall hanging from repurposed wood (pallets).First you sand your pieces, then
select from a variety of stencils to personalize the top plate of the hanging with the phrase of your choice.
Then you will attach the coat hooks to the bottom plate. After that is done you will assemble all the pieces and
attach the hangers on to the back. Making a perfect, personalized, wall hook hanging for yourself or a gift for
someone else.

7AM/7PM: Intro to Archery: Archery Country


Designed to be your very first session of archery, you will begin developing your shooting form and learning to group
arrows. The knowledgeable instructor will work with you to instill the basics of archery and to develop your confidence
and competence on the range, creating a solid foundation of knowledge and skill that will allow you to progress in this
exciting sport. Archery is an ideal sport for even the youngest competitors, as it provides opportunities for growth,
achievement and camaraderie. ALL EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED.
