What students are

doing/learning/demonstrating/engaging/activities?

ACTIVITY 1: The students will start by watching the

short video about the sun. Then, teacher will hand out
iPads to the students. The students will all log onto
Popplet and write down facts that they learned about
the sun from the short video.

The students will be learning all different information

ACTIVITY 2: The Students will be working together in
small groups of 3 to 4 to create their own Solar Oven.
(The teacher will show the students a demonstration
'oven' and give instructions on how to craft it). The
Students will need to create their own oven and
personalise it if they wish. Then they can 'roast'
their marshmallows with chocolate on a graham
cracker. Students will create a stop motion of their
'ovens' working, by taking photos of the progression of
the melting. They will use the App StopMotion, and
have access to watch the video after they have taken
all the photos.
The students will need:
- A black box with a lid, preferably plastic.
- Graham Crackers
- Marshmallows
- Chocolate (3-4 pieces)
- A Magnifying Glass

participating, using the
ICT correctly, that they
have variety in ICT
tools, communicating,
understand aspects
about the sun.
Mark the Popplet

the Sun?'The students can go out and collect their
