You brought out the best in us and gave us such fun times, 1 think the modern word is “bonding.” I recat! once you asked all of us to give a Littke tath about the trips we took with our husbands— I came away geeling I knew the wives of Lyndon's Seflow workers and the states they represented better 2 her Gor our comradeship there. Your own deseriptions were gilded with toinkly humor that was captivating. I’ve alaays thought you were the standout in that job! When T thine of you and President Nixon, and your many warm gestures to us, I particutarty remember when on Lyndon's birthday 4m 1969, you asked us to Lunch at your beautiful home in San Clemente close to the sea. Then we gLew up to a portion of the Redwood Forest which came into the National Park Service in the Fal of ‘66, and then named the Lady 8iad Johnson Gaove. It mas a charming dedication ceremony, and an act of such kindness and generosity!
