You dont have to apply brute

physical force for the effective
self-defense
Just imagine how
you can change
your life and self-feeling in any life
situation, however difficult it may be,
youll be able to keep cool, to assess the
circumstances properly, to identify the
problem and to define the task for its
solution, taking into account the optimal
time, force and means which are at your
disposal at the time.
That is the way of interaction which
Alexey Kadochnikov imparts to his
students. And he does his best.
Anybody, who has mastered his science
of the self-defense technique, acquired
unique skills of a warrior, which shouldnt
be revealed. Its an unseen weapon, which
shouldn't be detected until its applied, and
it cant be taken away until the person is
alive.

Many of his students are not warriors

by profession, they are creators. They have
acquired knowledge and skills which help
them to keep confident and calm in those
life circumstances into which they get: to
be leaders in their environment, not to be
afraid of the responsibility for their actions,
not to allow themselves to be led by the
opinion of other people, to be ready to
protect themselves and their relatives from
any display of rudeness and violence.
The uniqueness of the Kadochnikov
Systema comes from its simplicity and
effectiveness. It allows a physically weak, ill
or wounded person to protect him/herself
in a dangerous situation. Its based on the
use of methods of a sensible and skillful
impact on an opponent, not on brute
physical force.
Everything should be made as simple
as possible, but not simpler, said Einstein.
Exactly on this subtle boundary between
the simplicity and geniality, Alexey
Alexeevich
Kadochnikov
succeeded

in creating a unique Systema of safety

technique and effective self-defense, which
is completely unrivalled and is available for
mastering by any person. You dont need
any physical fitness or special knowledge
for that. Quite the contrary. When you get
to know the Kadochnikov Systema closer,
youll want to find out more about the
potential of your body and your psychic
setup. Having quickly acquired everything
which they wanted self-confidence and
self-defense skills many continue to
attend the Kadochnikov Systema trainings
for self-development purposes and for
better understanding of who they are and
what their place in the world is.
Effective self-defense is just the first step
which can help to overcome difficulties and
to get the unseen weapon to cope with
any life circumstances, including extreme
or provocative conflict situations, which
are frequent in our life nowadays.
In the report The six main rules of
self-defense we are told about special
exercises and about how one can use them
in order not to allow fear to accumulate in
the muscles of the body. When you learn
to relax the required muscles of your body,
your brain will be able to send special
signals to them, and the body will be able
to process them. Now, when your body is
ready to work even in a stressful situation,
you need some new knowledge about
those abilities your body has disposed of.

03

When your body doesnt accumulate

fear and strain in your muscles anymore,
you can master to control it as a single
and well-coordinated mechanism. The
energy is turned in the direction which
your attention is drawn to. A trained body
is able to perform a delicate work, which
is controlled by the brain. Now you dont
have to use rough, sharp mechanical
movements which your body performed
as a robot. Instead of it, youll learn how
to move softly, using the whole body and
distributing the efforts consecutively. Youll
be able to work under such conditions any
time you want, and you wont feel tired.
You wont even sweat.
Hard to believe? Yes, that sounds
fantastic. But just at first sight. There is a
scientific explanation to it. The matter is
that tiredness is accumulated in the brain
cortex. And just after that the tiredness
passes to the muscles. Thats why, when the
brain is not ready for the situation, when it
doesnt know how to solve the problem,
a person gets confused and loses energy
very quickly.
The same is true when somebody relies
only on physical abilities, mastered holds
and behavioral patterns. The body takes
away all the energy then, depriving the
brain of the necessary nourishment for the
estimation of the environment and for the
making a required decision in accordance
with the situation. A sharp surge of the

physical energy is followed by a slump, and

a person becomes completely unprotected.
At this moment neither trained muscles,
nor a store of mastered holds will do any
good.
The behavioral model when a person
relies only on his/her physical abilities is
shown in black in fig. 1. Its characterized
by a maximal display of physical forces,
when there is no more energy either for
the maintenance of the scope of attention
to estimate the environment, or for the
control over the situation to correct the
movement or your body and the body of
your opponent (opponents) too. Of course,
its time-limited.
Human physical abilities are not
unlimited.
This
behavioral
model
is compared by Alexey Alexeevich
Kadochnikov with driving a car which
rushes along a highway at a high speed.
Its almost impossible to take a bend at

such a high speed. Nevertheless, 99% of

all existing Systemas are to a greater or
lesser extent based on such a behavioral
model. We see such a situation in spite of
the fact that modern scientific research
show that for the efficient control over the
circumstances a person must spend only
about 20-25% of energy on physical effort.
What does it depend on? First of all, it
depends on the quantity of energy our
brain requires for its activity. The point is
that the brain is the most energy wasting
part of our body. Even when our body
is in a relaxed motionless state, the brain
consumes 20% of energy.
The internals, for example, require two
times less energy. You already know that
in a dangerous situation our field of view
should cover the range of 270 degrees for
a proper observation and estimation of
the environment. We also should use other
analyzers, such as hearing, senses of smell

and touch. For any of these actions we

need energy.
By teaching our body to spend no more
than 25% of our forces on the proper
motor activity, we save the necessary
amount of energy for our brain, so that it
could estimate the situation correctly, to
detect the problem and to set the task for
its solution with regard for the different
options (taking into account the time,
force and means we have at our disposal
at the time). Only in such a mode can we
work efficiently in a potentially stressful
situation, without being obsessed by fear
or panic, and solve tasks of any difficulty.
When you understand this principle,
youll be able to work effectively against
an opponent who is physically stronger
and quicker than you, against several
opponents or even a group of attackers.

Schematically, this model is shown in

blue in fig.1. Using this model youll waste
no more than 25% of your force. You will
also be able to observe and estimate the
environment and to work effectively as
long as you need. In such a state you take
the blows softly because you use not only
linear speed of the movement but also
an angular one, so you always gain time.
Softness, smoothness and inoffensiveness
of your movements, as it may seem to an
outside observer, are deceptive. Spiral
movements, made by the rotation of your
arms about the axis, form new trajectories
which are unseen for an inexperienced
eye. Though it can be easily described with
an elementary formula of the perimeter of
the circle. See Fig. 2.
Now its obvious for you that the angular
speed is always higher than the linear one.

A slight rotary motion with a hand or a

forearm performed in a split second can
change the direction of any blow, making
it safe for you and dangerous for your
opponent. That allows you to apply force,
moment or impulse for neutralizing the
opponent (or opponents) at a required
time and to a required spot.
Any physical body has a number of
characteristics: weight, length, width,
center of gravity, geometrical shape, state
of aggregation. Being in movement, the
body acquires such characteristics as
vector (the direction of the movement),
speed, acceleration and impulse. When
one body interacts with the other, we
see a contact zone which is measured
by the surface of contact. The less the
surface of the contact zone is, the stronger
deformation of the object we receive when
the object influences this zone (when other
conditions are equal).

06

When one body influences another, the

supporting points, mass rotation centers
are formed. To reduce the targeted impact,
a point of force resolution is created and a
lever or a moment of force is used. When
blows are performed, we use the impulse
(the principle of the supersonic speed),
that allow us to attain the crushing effect
with minimal waste of our own energy.
Thus, the mere use of several basic
principles can allow you to master unique
skills of effective control over your body
in a dangerous situation. And above all, it
will help to avoid a terrible blunder when
you rely on your physical superiority
in a situation where the decisive role is
assigned to proper training, not to brute
physical force. In our next report well deal
with the basic fighting algorithms which
you will need for the total suppression of
any rival.

Figure 2. The angular speed allows you to travel a much

longer distance than the linear speed does in the same
period of time.
