New Sutras and corrections of Sutras according to

Jyotish Pradipika
Of Lakshmana Sastrys Sanskrit Commentary.
Sampath kumar Medavarapu

In this paper I want to reveal some important points in Jaimini Upadesa Sutra. Comparative
study also have been taken between Sanskrit commentaries of Neelakantas Subodhini and
Lakshmana
Lakshmana Sas
Sastrys
trys JyothisPradipika{ Here after JP}. Subodhini translated in to every Indian
language along with English. But JS is not properly studied by our Sanskrit scholars. Because it is
in Telugu script. I have been scribing this JP in Devanagari script .
Lakshmana Sastry is a Telugu Brahmin ,probably in 17th century, hailed from Vatheeswaran koil
in Tamilanadu, son of Visveswara Sastry. This information given himself at the end of thefirst
quarter of first Chapter. This Sanskrit commentary is scribed in Telugu Language.

JP deal with 2 Chapters only. Firstly Commentator Lakshmana write down all Sutras of 2
Chapters. After that he started the JP commentary.First I verify the aphorisms of 2 chapters.
He mentioned all aphorisms of 2 chapters and omitted some Sutras which are incorrect and
interpolated at that time.
- 1-1-16 : This Sutra mentioned in Sutra list ,but omitted in commentary.
Example- -

I found these remarks in the JP

1- New Sutras.
2- Words arrangement of Sutra also differed in some places.
3- In some places one Sutra divided in to tow Sutras.
4- Some words are changed , but their value of the is not changed. Example 1-1-7
5- The order of the Sutras are not same in little bit of places

No Sutra of Subodhini

So far all translators of Jaimini Sutras not properly verified Sanskrit commentaries, except
Subodhini which is not purely understood by the author itself, because of Somanathas
JyothisKalpalata ,In some places also wrongly interpretated, but there are 4 to 5 other
commentaries are in Sanskrit . For full explanation and decoding the real meaning of Jaimini
only can be understood, when patiently grammatically- scholarly- intuitively deciphered. Those
days also will come in future.
Good-luck
