Title: Kidnapped
Author: Robert Louis Stevenson
Setting: the story takes place in some parts of Scotland especially in the village of
Essedean, also in the islands of Mull and Earraid around 1751.
Characters:
David Balfour: He is an unlucky boy who lost his father and stayed completely
alone in the world, therefore he decided to travel and know his lost uncle, due to his
decision he had to face new and dangerous experiences.
Ebenezer Balfour: He is lost Davids Uncle.
Captain Hoseason: he is a person in charge of the ship where David was
kidnapped.
Alan Steward: He is a partner of adventures and closely friend of David.
Campbell: He was a leader of the enemy clan which Alan was fighting against.
Mr. Rankeillor: He was the lawyer who help David to fight against his uncle.
Plot:
It was early in the month of June, 1751, when David started his new adventure, He
was a young man who few days before had lost his father. Thanks to the last letter
that his father gave him, David undertook a new way in search of an unknown uncle
who probably would gave him some heritage from his dead father. When he met his
uncle, David realized that this man was a terrible person who only desired his own
benefit and obviously keep a house and some farmlands which belonged to David
by Right. Ebenezer Balfour who was Davids uncle, planned with Captain Hoseason
(who was a pirate) kidnap David and steal his fortune. With an elaborated plan
David fell in their trick and was kidnapped in the pirates ship. Fortunately inside the
ship David met Alan, He was a highlander who fought against king George of
England and an enemy clan called the Campbells, and by unlucky reasons He was in
the pirates ship as well. Being both David and Alan men of honor and valor, they
decided to fight against the sailors and captain Hoseason in a surprising action
which gave them the victory.
Climax and resolution:
While they were in the sea, the ship hit a big rock and then they were lost in a small
island called Earraid. That moment was very difficult for David because he had no

idea what to do, so he decided to follow Alan and claim justice against his uncle.
With the help of Mr. Rankeillor (who was a recognized lawyer in the village of
Essedean, place where the house and farmlands of David were located) David and
Alan faced Ebenezer Balfour achieving the surrender of that bad man and allowing
David keep his belongings.
