Dear Nurse Recruiter,
I am pleased to be writing you today regarding my application for the registered nursing position. I believe
my qualifications and experience make me an ideal candidate for this job.
I obtained my Bachelors of Science of Nursing on December 19th, 2015 at Shenandoah University in
Winchester, Virginia. I have four years of direct patient care experiences within the hospital setting. As
well as over four years of experience working with children and young adults who have intellectual and
physical disabilities. I am a compassionate, calm, and patient professional with excellent interpersonal
skills. I have a passion for providing safe quality care, and the necessary leadership skills to inspire other
staff members to strive to provide above standard levels of service.
In my previous role as a nursing student I was tasked with providing full patient care in a vast range of
clinical settings. During this time, I have been recognized as a dedicated, ambitious, and reliable student
nurse with the ability to work without supervision. Through my clinical rotations I have been able to
enhance my nursing skills and broaden my clinical knowledge.
In addition to the required clinical rotations, I have completed a preceptorship of 96 hours in the mother
baby unit at Winchester Medical Center. This experience enabled me to further my assessment,
prioritization, organization, and leadership skills. During which, I was commended for accurately
identifying, prioritizing, and attending to patient needs. As well as proficiently handling difficult situations
with patients and their family members.
In my present role as a direct service provider at Strengthening Our Systems in Richmond, Virginia I am
tasked with providing direct care to young adults with complex health histories comprised of intellectual,
developmental, and physical disabilities. As well as providing assistance with the skills of daily living,
client education, and occupational skill building. Throughout my experience in this field I have been able to
practice building therapeutic trust, client advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. My supervisors
have recognized my leadership abilities and have entrusted me with responsibilities in the spear heading of
various client projects and employee training on numerous occasions.
I believe a relationship with your facility would be mutually beneficial, as I am seeking a challenging work
environment where I can utilize my skills to the fullest extent and grow as a registered nurse. I look
forward to hearing from you, and would love to explain my qualifications further during an interview.
Best Regards,

Bryana Russell, BSN, RN
