INTRODUCTION
When we collaborate to bring out our stories through acting, telling stories, drawing
and singing, we add the uniqueness of who we are, allowing our differences to become
the keys to the creative process. We soon find out how similar we are, how empathy,
tolerance and understanding can replace fear, prejudice and rejection.
This is what a group of youth coming from different backgrounds and countries have
discovered through their common adventure.
A group of Syrian and Palestinian refugee youth together with their Lebanese peers,
aged fifteen to twenty-five living in the North Bekaa (Ein-Hermel-Baalbeck-Bednayel)
and the South (Saida-Nabatieh-Sour-Jezzine) have embarked on a project entitled
"Better Together: A Youth-led Approach to Peaceful Coexistence" funded by the
European Union. By using role playing and story telling, under the supervision of
professional artists, they were empowered to translate their stories into an illustrated
book filled with tales of magic, hope and poetry.
This project was put together by Search for Common Ground-Lebanon (SFCG) in
partnership with the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) in
North Bekaa and the Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA) in South
Lebanon with commitment, care and enthusiasm.

So join us on our journey, open the book and enter a world of

possibilities, a world created by the youth.
