Sabrina Aisenberg

On the morning of November 24th, 1997 in Valrico, Florida Sabrina Aisenberg was taken
from her home in between the hours of 12:00 AM and 6:42 AM. Marlene Aisenberg, Sabrinas
mother stated she last saw the baby at 12:00 AM when she peeked her head in to check on her
and the child was still in her crib. The child was missing along with her yellow blanket which
was in the child's crib while she was asleep. The parents of Sabrina, Steve and Marlene, reported
that both the garage door and one of the house doors had been unlocked during the early
morning. Police also found an unidentified blonde hair in the house, seven unidentified
fingerprints, and a footprint by Sabrinas crib. When police were investigating they interviewed
several neighbors to seek if someone saw anything out of the ordinary happen. One neighbor
stated that there had been several break in attempts in the area of houses in which young children
lived in. Another neighbor told authorities that he was awakened the night of Sabrinas
disappearance to his dog barking at 1:00 AM. When the man took his dog outside he stated he
heard the sound of a baby crying.

Three weeks into the investigation and there was no leads going in any directions. So
authorities began to wonder how someone breaks into a house while a family is asleep and does
not wake anyone, gets past the family dog without the dog barking, and leaves with a baby who
had just been woken from being asleep. Police began to question the parents of Sabrina. They did
not know if the parents were the actually ones who did something with Sabrina or they just had
something to do with, either way the police had suspicion. Therefore authorities got permission
to place listening devices inside the home of the Aisenbergs. Then according to the police
transcript of the Aisenbergs conversation. Steve and Marlene both said that Sabrina was dead.

In 1999, Steve and Marlene Aisenberg were indicted on conspiracy charges in September
nearly two years after their daughter Sabrina had disappeared. After on trial for two years the
judge found out that investigators lied when seeking permission to put wires throughout the
home of the Aisenberg house. He also stated that there was nothing on the tapes that was clear
evidence stating whether or whether not the Aisenberg parents had something to do with the
disappearance of their child. Steve and Marlene were both cleared of all the charges against
them. Then in 2005 the parents and their attorney met with the sheriff's department and was fully
cooperative and was open to extensive questioning. The Aisenbergs even took a polygraph and
even though the results were never announce both parents stated that they passed. Though the
parents were cleared of all charges they have not been ruled out as suspects in this disappearance
case.
Then when all hope seemed lost, in 2003, there were rumors that Sabrina Aisenberg may
indeed be a child by the name of Paloma Unknow. Paloma was a child abandoned in May of
1998 when she was taken across the Mexican border into Texas by a teenage woman who stated

she was the mother of this child. She then proceeded to give the child to Molly Garza who was a
spanish woman working in the textile industry. The only thing was that Garza was being
deported back to her native country of Spain so therefore could not care for the child. Garza then
gave the child to her friend who was a registered nurse in a migrant clinic. The nurse then gave
the child to her sister where her and her husband raised the child in Pontiac, Illinois. The couple
tried to adopt the child on several different occasions but failed due to not having a birth
certificate or any other forms of legitimacy. Therefore the couple was named the legal guardian
for Paloma. Now where Sabrina ties into all of this is when a Michigan woman saw a missing
childs poster and noticed the resemblance between Sabrina and Paloma. The woman then called
Marlene and Steve Aisenberg who then agreed that Paloma looked a lot like their daughter.
Police then compared a piece of Paloma DNA to a piece of DNA that they had of Sabrinas but
the two did not match and Paloma remains unidentified to this day.

My opinion in this case is that the parents, Steve and Marlene, had something to do with
it. Though there was key evidence found pointing to another individual such as the hair,
fingerprints, and a shoeprint, I believe the Aisenbergs were a conspiracy to the crime. Though I
do not believe that they one hundred percentage did the act all by themselves. But too much does
not make sense for them to not have a part in the disappearance of baby Sabrina Aisenberg.
