Students will demonstrate cooperative skills and decision making during game play
Standards: 1, 2, 4, 5
Equipment:
8 circuit training signs
30 cones
3 hula hoops (for circuit training station)
3 jump ropes (for circuit training station)
1 soccer ball for each student
30 bowling pins
Introduction- Following activity
One partner leads and performs various kinds of movements. The other partner does the same
movements. Halfway through the activity, partners change roles.
Fitness- Circuit training
8 cones will be spread out throughout the area with a circuit training sign on each one. Students
will get in groups of no more than three and stand at a cone. When the music plays for 30
seconds, the students will perform the exercise on their sign. When the music stops, the teacher

shouts move up, the students respond with lets go and move toward the next station in a
clockwise pattern. This will be done until each group has reached each station.
Lesson Focus- Dribbling & accuracy skills
Dribbling: Students will get in lines of four behind each dribbling lane. They will take turns
dribbling while weaving in and out of cones using the inside of their right foot. On the second
pass, they will use the outside of their right foot. On the third pass, they will use the inside of
their left foot. On the fourth pass, they will use the outside of their left foot. All remaining
passes, students will choose whichever method they like.
Accuracy: Each student will have a ball and a bowling pin. They will start close to the pin and
try to knock it over with the ball. Every time they do so, they reset the pin and try from further
away.
Game- Bowling pin soccer
2 playing fields will be set up with 7 goals containing 2 bowling pins. Students will get split
between the fields. Half of the students on each field will be a defender of the goal while the
other half try to knock down the bowling pins. Once a defender has had both of their pins
knocked down, they join the others in the middle to try and knock down other pins. Once only
one player has any pins left, the game is over and the players who have not yet been defenders
switch roles.
Lesson 2

Students will demonstrate ball control
Students will demonstrate cooperative social skills of teamwork

Standards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Equipment:
8 circuit training signs
3 hula hoops (for circuit training station)
3 jump ropes (for circuit training station)
1 soccer ball for each student
4 goals
Pinnies
Beach ball
Introduction- New leader

Students are put in small groups. One student is the leader that performs various movements
around the area while the others follow. On the whistle blow, another student takes over leading.
Fitness- Circuit training fitness
8 cones will be spread out throughout the area with a circuit training sign on each one. Students
will get in groups of no more than three and stand at a cone. When the music plays for 30
seconds, the students will perform the exercise on their sign. When the music stops, the teacher
shouts move up, the students respond with lets go and move toward the next station in a
clockwise pattern. This will be done until each group has reached each station.
Lesson Focus- Dribbling and passing skills
Dribbling: This is the same as lesson one but this time students will work on moving faster
through the cones. Students will get in lines of four behind each dribbling lane. They will take
turns dribbling while weaving in and out of cones using the inside of their right foot. On the
second pass, they will use the outside of their right foot. On the third pass, they will use the
inside of their left foot. On the fourth pass, they will use the outside of their left foot. All
remaining passes, students will choose whichever method they like.
Passing:
Students will get in partners and practice passing with three techniques (inside of foot, outside of
foot, and laces). They will start close and take a step backwards every time they successfully get
the ball to their partner. If they are not successful, they will step closer to each other.
Game- Sideline soccer
2 fields will be set up for 2 separate games. Students will be split into four teams and line up on a
sideline. Each team will rotate in four players. The players will have 2 minutes to try and score
as many goals as they can without goalies. After the two minutes, those players will rotate out
and 4 more players will rotate in. The ball must be passed to at least 2 players before a goal can
be scored.

them. They will switch off taking turns between defense and offense. After several minutes, have
students switch partners to get practice with another student.
Game- Sideline soccer

sideline. Each team will rotate in four players. The players will have 2 minutes to try and score
as many goals as they can without goalies. After the two minutes, those players will rotate out
