TUNG INTRO
In 2007, I graduated from acupuncture school, and needed a break. I started a non-profit, and went volunteering for the next 3 years.
I volunteered in India, Vietnam, Honduras, Guatemala, and in America.
I failed miserably the first two years in acupuncture practice. It was spectacular!
Plastic surgeon, detox center, MD, allergist clinic, nurse practitioner, bio identical, spa, wellness center, therapy combo,
solo practice, house calls, group, volunteer, working hourly, ER hospital, herbal house call van deal, old folks home, 4
overseas volunteer trips.
In my clinic, I see 100 people a week on my own, each patient individually, no group treatments, no assembly line acupuncture. I see
25-30 people a day, and I work Mon-Thursday, 3 tx rooms. My wife runs the front office, I do all the herbs, treating, insurance,
cleaning, laundry, make herbs, ordering of supplies and materials. We have only been open since 2010 March. We were at 76 people
the first week. I DIDNT KNOW ANYBODY IN MY AREA! It was a small town, 12,000 people mostly of fisherman/farmers/blue collar
workers, no acupuncture ever in the town
YOU CAN DO ACUPUCTURE ANYWHERE! Quit thinking in terms of do people like acupuncture here or there? Think in terms of
are there sick people here? Is so? I provide medicine and I can be of service! It just so happens that you do acupuncture and
herbs.
Why am I here talking? Because I'm a novice. Because I'm new. Because I dont know that much. If I can do this? YOU ALL CAN!!!
IM NOT SPECIAL!
TUNG INTRO
I have been taught Tung Acupuncture by Wei Chi Young and I have been
taught the Balance Method acupuncture by Dr. Richard Tan. To them I owe
everything I have learned.
I had the chance to practice all these points overseas, doing volunteer
work, treating 100 patients a day. Volunteering is important. It allows you
to treat for free thus it allows you to treat without fear. It allows you to
experiment without worrying about booking the next appt. You can test,
try, retry, rethink, and all the time youre helping others. People come for
months, you can see the evolution of your treatmentswhat is working?
What is not working? Why not? Why is it?
Treat as much as you can, you will get better with experience

TUNG BASICS
Ill cover Tung theory as we talk.
Its impossible to cover it all in 1 hour, let along 4 days a normal length Tung seminar
And ill explain the theory, I have many ways to discuss theory this is only one way.
Master Tung theory is deep and rich. Lets keep it simple shall we?
And like gravity, it worksregardless if you get it or you dont. These points are the
same, they work! THERES NO MAGIC! They work better if you know why, but still my
wife who knows nothing of acupuncture could be super successful if I told her what
points to do and she had no idea why.
But one MAIN CONCEPT? Dont try to be Dr. Jesus. See Dao Ma Concept
TUNG BASICS
The Dao Ma Needling Technique of Master Tung Ching-Chang was one of the clinical methods he
most frequently employed. This technique can succinctly be stated as follows: three points are
needled simultaneously to profoundly 'obtain qi' (De Qi) and rapidly effect a cure. Dr. Tung did not
greatly concern himself with 'supplementing' (Bu) or 'draining' (Xie) needle techniques, but rather
with powerfully 'obtaining qi' (De Qi) to influence the 'Reaction Areas' of the points needled. In
this style of acupuncture, the more you obtain the qi, the faster your results will be.
Disease is non-intrinsic object of our body. If you get it, just remove it. Master Tung
Over 60% of Master Tung points are in Dao Mas

loosely translated to mean the path from obscurity into manifestation.

CLINICAL APPLICATION
These are YOUR GOTO POINTS for neck pain, on the bone, cervical issues C1-7/T1. If you add in 77.04
then we are treating to around T4 zone. On the spine, DU, and BL channel. And KD channel if you
understand the Jing Jin channels.
I frequently will use 77.-01-2-3-4 with ren 24 for neck pain.
These points can be and are used for low back pain, the image and channel and for brain problem because
of the reaction. I love this points for all the conditions. They are powerful, effective and NOT painful. You
can needle this points on people face up or face down. The key to these points IS THAT YOU MUST TAP
THE BONE to make these points effective. Needle thru the tendon to the bone. That is key.
CONTRARY TO OPINIONS? You can NEEDLE THIS POINT WITH PEOPLE LAYING ON THEIR BACKS!
COME ON! IMPROVISE, OVERCOME, ADAPT!
