Representation of Social Class In Misfits • The main social class represented is the lower classes, representated in the location, characters and mis en scene. The programme is filmed in a derprived area of London and this reflects on the various personalities we find within the show. The location if also refelcted in the mis en scene as Misfits is mostly shot in a community centre that is lit with flourescent lighting, sparsely furnished and is quite rundown. The characters represent stereotyopes of people ou would expect to find in that area and each separate person develops further the idea of social class and status within the programme. • The characters show a low social class through the language they use, costume, their ideals and experiences, and how they interact with one another in the situation they find themselves in. it is also interesting to looks at how ethnicity is portrayed in the show, with three black people and one half cast young man, along with three white men and women. This is perhaps representative of the area that the programme is filmed in, but may also be a reference to the stereotypes of that is portrayed many times in Misfits.
