Hemp Agrimony

Eupatorium cannibinum
Family: Asteraceae
Herbaceous perennial. Native to Europe, Asia and North Africa. The reddish-colored
stems rise up from a permanent rootstock, supporting multiple branches and the three
or five-lobed leaves, which resemble Cannabis, but have no narcotic effects. The
lilac-colored flowers arise in multitude. Has been used historically for treating
influenza. Excessive dosage will cause efficient purging. Cultivation: Extra care.
Sow the small, pappus-laden seeds on the surface of a flat in the spring, and keep
moist until germination. Seed has short viability, so plant it within a year of receipt.
The plant does well in the full sun, with regular garden soil and moderate watering.
