PROCEDURE
Introduction (_5_min.):

Today we are going to play a little game. Now, this game is tons of fun but it requires all of us to
be fairly quiet and be paying attention so that everyone can enjoy the game. And we will see if
there are prizes at the end for playing the game so well.

Body of Lesson (28 mins)

Assessment Methods

Teacher will show the students a video that shoes Peru


Teacher will ask students questions about the video
to make them think about what they saw
What did you see in the video?
What looked interesting about Peru?
What would you like to see in Peru?
Teacher will ask a few of the students for their own
answers.
Teacher will explain that the students are going to be playing
a true or false trivia game
Teacher will talk to students about proper attitude
and proper game etiquette.
Teacher will explain the rules to the students.
Teacher will read the questions on the smartboard
When the teacher says go, students will write down
whether they think the statement is TRUE or FALSE
on their whiteboards
The students will hold their whiteboards up as fast
as possible
Teacher will reveal the answer, and if the students
get the answer right, they will be able to mark a
point on the top right hand corner of the whiteboard.
Teacher will progress through the slides and have the
students give their thoughts on the answers
Each slide has a different fact about Peru as well so
that the students have a fun and interesting way to
learn new facts.
Closure ( _5_min.):

Teacher will hand out the final prize for everybody and thank them all for doing such a great
job and doing so well at playing their game!

Sponge Activity

If students are finished, they can complete the word search on the back of the crossword
puzzle.
