To whom it may concern,

I am pleased to inform you that I have known Kimberly Kim Forbes in a student and professional
capacity for over 20 years. To this day I clearly remember standing in the registration line on my first day
of nursing school at what used to be called Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and chatting
casually with Kim. Nursing is a challenging curriculum, especially when you are young coming straight out
of high school. Kim rose to the occasion and proved to everyone including herself that she is persistent
and will meet a challenge head on. She successfully completed her associate degree in nursing, and she
went on to become a Pediatric Registered Nurse.
During Kims years working in Pediatrics, I was privileged to work in various capacities with her. For
several years I was in a management role as her supervisor, as well as years that we worked
collaboratively on the Pediatric leadership team when she was the Pediatric Nurse Educator and a
Charge Nurse.
Kims passion is teaching others, and to this day she still speaks fondly of those she directly mentored.
She was one of the primary preceptors on the Pediatric floor throughout the time we worked
together. As a Pediatric Nurse Educator, Kim was involved in, and actively led many aspects of the
development of our Graduate Nurse program including a didactic lecture series, delivery and testing of
the content.
It doesnt surprise me that she chose to pursue a Masters Degree in Education. From my past work
experience with her, I believe she has selected an education and career path that is a natural fit for her
and that she will excel in. Kim is goal-driven, and she takes the initiative to accomplish the tasks and
objectives necessary to successfully complete her goals. An education degree combined with her
nursing background will enhance her ability to accomplish her goal to be an educator.
Over the years, I have watched Kim grow and mature as a nursing professional. She is now an
experienced, seasoned nurse who desires to continue learning and developing so she can share her
knowledge and skill with others through education. When Kim contacted me to be a reference for her, I
told her I would not hesitate to recommend her for a faculty position at Adventist University of Health
Sciences.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
