Forests is one of the precious gift from God. They are an important source of flora and fauna of
this planet. They are not only the house for variety of species but also a breeding place for
precious items. Destroying them is like setting the path for destruction era. In my opinion, I
strongly agree stand by to this statement.
Evergreen forests has been the grassroots for retaining survival of life on Earth. Firstly, huge
population of trees has wide spread roots that not only hold the soil firmly but also arrest easy
flow of water, preventing soil erosion and occurrence of floods. Trees breathe in carbon-di-oxide
and give out oxygen which is vital for animals breathe. They are also the source of food for
forests animals. As leaves release moisture to atmosphere - respiration & photosynthesis - they
help retain water cycle, ensuring timely on set of monsoons. This further helps regulate global
climatic conditions.
However, on the pretext of accommodating the growing population needs, man has started
exploiting and cutting down the valuables of forest. Africa, which had housed thick stretches of
equatorial forests is gradually losing its charms from human intervention. Most of the species
have lost their homes and are deserted. Being home-dwellers of forest, they have challenges in
adapting to other places and finally perish threatening global biodiversity. With heavy felling of
trees, earths ecological balance is also affected, and sparing ill effects on global climate too.
In conclusion, harming natures creation causes eventual and irrevocable harm to human
beings. God bestowed precious gifts to us and equipped us with knowledge for effective usage
of these gifts. It is our duty that we revisit this expectation from mother Earth and retain its glory.
