S hrs in Arpan Mukherjee » GATE Computer Science Hello, sorry for a lengthy post @) I'm in my final year student of |T from an unknown college from WBUT(Presently known as MAKAUT). Currently I've job offer from TCS. This year | appeared for gate and scored really bad(AIR 6506 and score 437) only based on the knowledge of DS and Algorithm. | was preparing for ACM-CPC and couldn't concentrate for GATE properly. | really want to do my MTech from IIT or IIIT. Now | need some suggestions and advice. What should | do? I'm decent and algorithm and coding. | regularly do CP(Competitive Programming). I'm pretty sure if | go for TCS.1 won't get any job satisfaction. Should | drop a year for GATE and if yes how to prepare for it? Links for online video tutorials and books? How should | go for it. Or | should go for job. After 2 years of experience and try for gate-l cant that. So either this year or no MTech. Any help or suggestions. Should | let TCS go? Badly need help. Please help me out. From 1 Jan me and 1 of my friend started preparing for gate. We studied alot daily. The only plus point we get is we are good at competitive programming. | secured 135 and she get 181. So if you are good at competitive programming you will understand topics easily. My view is similar to umang’s view. Just join a startup work for sometime. Get some experience and then prepare for it just 3 or 4 months.
