Should physician-assisted suicide be allowed in some

situation?
Agree:

Disagree

There's no reason why we cants strictly regulate it

so that it's not misused.

Assisted suicide opens the door for the mentally ill

to kill themselves.

Yes, it ought to be legal. On a person can know

his/her own life best, if they deem it is time to end
their life no one has a right to stop them. People will
suicide whether or not suicide or assisted suicide
were legal. I'd rather people had help of
professionals that could minimize pain and
suffering and make sure it's effective than having
try themselves.

Suicide is murder. Not only does it go against

christian values it goes against morals that a large
amount of the masses shares. Instead of offering to
help a person end their life they should help them
ease their mental issues with therapy.
Etc.

Etc.

physician-assisted suicide.

The article is disagreeing about

During the first year of legalizing physician assisted suicide in oregon, the decision to request and use a prescription for lethal medications was associated with
concern about loss of autonomy or control of bodily functions, not with fear of intractable pain or concern about financial loss.

Although there have been many studies of physicians assisted suicide and euthanasia in the united states, national data are lacking.. In 1996, questionnaires to
be stratified probability sample of 3102 physicians in the 10 specialties in which doctors are most likely to receive requests from patients for assistance with
suicide or euthanasia. We weighted the results to obtain nationally representative data.

Arguments against or in favor of physician

assisted suicide?
Against physician- assisted suicide:

It's unethical to take a human life, and

historical, ethical traditions of medicine
strongly oppose taking life.
There is an important difference
between passively letting someone die
and actively killing.
etc

In Favor for physicians-assisted suicide:

Decisions about time and circumstances

regard death are personal and
competent person with terminal illness
should have the right to choose death.
Many terminal conditions are
accompanied by tremendous suffering
and pain. Physicians assisted suicide is a
compassionate response to unbearable
suffering.
