Knowledge and Research
Website: "Music Poster Books." Terms of the 90s, Slang of the Nineties. N.p., n.
d. Web. 27 Mar. 2016.
Source taught me the slang people who lived in urban areas typically on the east
coast used. This is reliable, because plenty of rap songs I heard from that er
a contained many of those slang words.
Article: "The Decades of Hip Hop Fashion The 80s & Early 90s." THE 5TH ELEMENT MAG
AZINE. N.p., 18 Sept. 2013. Web. 27 Mar. 2016.
Source taught me that 80s hip-hop was more of a beat Djs made for people to dance
to, and someone talking/chanting to it.

Difficulties

My professional was falsely convicted of a crime, and is pending in a jail curre
ntly.
This means I had no access to a studio.
So I recorded my voice through mom s phone, and played the music through my dad
s tablet.
Writing the lyrics was very challenging, but I got the hang of it after a while.
I also had to practice, and rehearse the lyrics I wrote.
Positives
I had more fun than I thought I would doing this project.
I learned how to think outside the box when I write.
Good practice for speaking clearly, and improved my articulation of words.
Why I chose this project
I am very interested in hip-hop, and passionate about it.
Believe it or not, Ive always wanted to record myself on a song(s).
Wasnt too interested in the other options I had presented to me.
It was a challenge that I knew I could complete.
I dont see this as a career path, but Im enthusiastic about this topic.
What Ive learned
It is very difficult to consistently come up with clever lyrics, let alone produ
ce your own music.
Its very difficult to have good quality without a studio.
Rapping takes a lot of practice, because my flow was extremely choppy when I fir
st started, I almost wanted to quit the project.
Rapping is an art, and takes practice.
