When I was a boy in suburban Pittsburgh, I grew up in a melting pot neighborhood.

We all went to the same schools, played on the same streets and parks and generally got along with
one another as much as children do at that age.
But like it is everywhere, there were always a few children by virtue of their upbringing or an
association with other nefarious types that could always be counted on to taunt and tease the rest
with hateful names and slurs.
Disparaging names can be hurtful and abusive especially for young children.
But my parents taught us that these names can only hurt you when they come from those you love
and respect, otherwise, sticks and stones may break my bones but name will never harm me.
Years have passed, my parents moved the family to West Norriton, later I moved to Towamencin and,
for me, the time of name calling had end and faded into the past.
That is until last week , when I picked up my copy of the Reporter news paper and read an article
listing scandalous charges by my illustrious board members.
Never in my entire life has my integrity, my honesty or work ethic ever been questioned.
Well, as my Dad used to say, consider the source.
I'm astonished by the name calling that I've experienced from the other board members.
It's been difficult for me as the only dissenting voice on behalf of my constituents when striving for
fairness, transparency, and fiscal responsibility. The four other board members have acted as a
controlling group, unilateral in opinion, and intolerant of disagreement.
They have resented any questions or scrutiny regarding their decisions or proposed actions, when that
is the very reason we have a board of five members, to assure that our actions on behalf of our
constituents are reviewed by independent minds coming together with the best possible solutions.
It is painful to be attacked by individuals who are threatened by another board member who merely
seeks clarification and deep discussion on issues without rubber stamping decisions just to assure
that he is voted Mr. Congeniality on the Board.
The actions of this board are cowardly and irresponsible, in their attempt to censure a sincere
proponent of citizens rights; one who questions, reviews and often disputes board activities with the
pure intent of being worthy of the trust placed in him by those citizens of Towamencin when they cast
their votes for him.
Actions highly inappropriate and uncalled for.
I have taken my responsibilities seriously and will continue to protect the rights of the citizens who
placed their trust in me.
An apology is deserved, although not expected.
I Also ask that the Censure passed at the last board meeting be rescinded.
Respectfully submitted, David J. Mosesso
