1. Thoroughly mix the smaller ball of yellow with the
ball of white clay. On a clean work surface, roll the
off-white clay into a small cylinder, roughly ¥/2" (13
mm) long and less than '/s" (3.2 mm) in diameter,

your fingertip
3. Slide the off-white cylinder onto the headpin so
the clay follows the curve of the pin. The headpin
will stick out of the top of the banana. Gently round
both ends of the cylinder.
4, To create the peel, divide the remaining yellow

into an elongated oval roughly ‘/e" (15.9 mm) lon
and no more than 4/s" (6.35 mm) wide, Smooth eac

5. Add the peel segments to the banana one at a
time, Press the peel gently into the center of the
bottom, then curve it upward so it adheres to the
bottom half of the banana. Add all three segments
so the bottom of the banana is fully covered and!
the top half of each peel is loose.
6. Fold down the top half of each peel to form a
small “loop” as shown
7. Press the tip of the folded peel into the bottomhalf with your fingernail or a pin, forming a small
crease.
8, Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 275° F (135°C).
To Make a Banana Bracelet
créate a'bunch of Uaiianas (5:06 6 chants, oF
more as desired),
2, Finish the headpins in each banana into closed,
wrapped loops (see page 35).
3. String the banana charms onto a bracelet with
size 11 chocolate brown seed beads.
