    WhenIwaspresentingInoticedthatmanyofthestudentswereinterestedin
    learningaboutIslamophobia.Manywereengagedbecauseitwasaninteractiveactivity
    wherewemademanystudentstalktooneanother,think,andreflect.Ialsonoticedthat
    evenafterthepresentationstudentsweretalkingaboutitasifitstucktothem.
    Evenbeforepresenting,IlearnedaboutIslamophobiawhichwasnot
    uncomfortablebutwasaserioustopicsoIhadtotakeitveryserious.Therearemany
    stereotypesaboutMuslimsandhavetobeawarethatallMuslimsarenotfromISISand
    notallofthemareterrorists.DuringthepresentationIfeltlikeIhadtobeseriousabout
    itandthatIhadtousetherightwordstoexplainthepresentationwithoutanyofit
    comingoutthewrongway.
    IlearnedthatIslamophobiaisarealphobia.Ineverknewthatitwas,butit
    openedmyeyestorealizeitwasbecauseInoticedhowmuchpeoplewerefrightenedof

    Muslims.Ilearnedthatonceagainwearequicktojudgeotherpeoplebecauseofa
    mistakesomeonehadmade.
    DuringthisfacinghistoryclassIcontributedaspresenterandIalsohelpedcreate
    thepowerpointtopresenttotheadvisory.Icontributedmyownthoughtsaswellas
    presentingIsharedpersonalexperienceswhenitcametoIslamophobie.
    IwasleftwonderingifIslamophobiawouldtogrow,orwillitstop?Iwasalso
    wonderinghowweasstudentscouldstopIslamophobia,orhowcanteachotherstonot
    haveIslamophobia.Islamophobiaisaserioustopicandweshouldntbefrightenedand
    quicktojudgeothers.
