I have fairly proficient ability to express self well in


writing the reason being is I passed my English Gcse
which consisted of a writing paper. This is not as
important in the work place.
I am also fairly proficient when it comes to talking to
others as when I started college I didnt know anyone
and I have made new friends which involved me talking
to others. This is very important in the work place as you
have to be able to talk to others.
This is important I have this skill as I can talk in front of
a group as I have done a few times when contributing in
lessons. This is important within the work place as if you
were to do presentations in front of everyone. You will
need confidence. This skill will come in handy.

I have this skill as I listen in all my lessons this skill is


very important as when you dont listen you wont
understand what is going on this is also important within
the work place.
I am adequate in this skill as sometimes it is hard to
determine someones body skills. This skill is very
important within the work place as body language will
tell you a lot about a person and what they are saying if

as I know how to work in a group I have done many
different group activities within my lessons in college.
This is very important within the working environment
as you need to be able to collaborate within a group.

little. This is very important in some fields of work for
example when making deals with contractors.

I have had many school reports which included my ability to express myself. This was done within my English lessons. I used to express
myself within my creative writing assessment which got me a C grade.

Tutorials, socially (making friends, making contacts), gathering or giving information, for example for a holiday or to solve a problem at
work or to arrange an outing (in person or over the telephone)
I have done this within in college as when I started college I didnt have any friends I socialized and got to know others within my class. This
also happened within Secodnry School as I had to make new friends. I have also arranged many days out with friends to go and socialize.

I have done this as part of my college work. This was done part of ready for wqork as I had to present my skills with an employers.

Non-verbal:

Lectures (evidenced from good notes and good results!), in groups/teams, peer tutoring, supporting/counselling others, ability to take
instructions (e.g. when learning a new skill music, driving, sport).
This has happened to me within secodnry school as I loistend to all the advice that I was given by my tutor. I have also done this while doing
my driving lessons as I had tyo listen to and learn everything that my driving instructor had said to me.

Body language (eye contact, posture, movement, expression, etc) in presentations, socially, on holidays, at work.
I find it difficult to do this it is something that I need to go over.

WORKING WITH OTHERS


Working with others is a skill highly valued by employers. Suitable evidence for this skill need not be limited to work experience. You should
think of all aspects of your work, studies and social life.

You may have developed this skill through your involvement with, group project work during your course, team games, Duke of Edinburgh
Award Scheme, committee work etc.
I have done this within college with unit 18 as it involced working tighter as a team and planning an event which was done.

It is likely that you will have used this skill in many aspect of your day-to-day life. Try to think of situations where you have wanted
something and the person you have been dealing with has been reluctant to give it to you. This is very common when dealing with
bureaucracy. E.g. dealing with problems about welfare benefits, dealing with a landlord, extending an overdraft. You might have been in
more formal negotiating situations such as getting sponsorship for a project, representing students on university committees, student union
work etc.
I have also done this to a certain extent for example with my phone contract I got my internet usage for less.

Sensitivity- Ability to respond appropriately to individual differences, e.g., age, gender, etc.
You many have developed this skill through working on a student nightline or help line, being a course or hall rep, committee work etc.
Leadership - Ability to encourage and motivate others
Obvious examples include: being a team captain, drama directing, chairing a committee etc. Less obvious examples include: editing a magazine, cocoordinating the activities of a group who are planning a social event etc.

I have done this within college as I have been a a team leader in my business lessons which was part of my business work.

I am able to use a calculator and a pc to make calculations as I have done this in my maths lessons and in many of my business lessons for
certain units.
You can draw evidence directly from your degree if a high level of numeric or mathematical ability is an essential part of your programme of
study. If this is not the case you can demonstrate this skill by GCSE/AS/A level Maths, a job involving a significant amount of work with
numerical data, a leisure or extra- curricular activity that involves manipulating figures etc.

These are very specific statements and you should be able to provide the required evidence. The kinds of questions you should be asking
yourself are: - Do you use a timetable to organize assignments and prepare for exams?, Do you use a diary to record times and locations of
classes and adviser of study sessions? Are you fully aware of how you learn most effectively and make full use of the current range of
learning opportunities available to you? etc.

Yes I am able to do this as I always meet deadlines and I always reference my work. I also take notes and use harvered referencing when
appropriate. This is all shown in my assignment work.
