The offering for June is for Gehman Missionary Support and budgeted items.

Last Week Attendance:
June 12, Sun.- We will have our normal worship service at 9 a.m. with no Sunday
School that day. At 10:30 a.m. we are all invited and encouraged to join the Vacation
Bible School Celebration Service with a picnic meal to follow, at Bowmansville
Mennonite Church. The Celebration Service will include Gehman Mennonite, Red
Run Mennonite, and Bowmansville Mennonite, and the parents of the community
children attending VBS. The DKers juggling duo will be presenting a show at 12:30
p.m. for the finale.
June 13, Mon - Ministry Team Meeting, 6 p.m., Board of Elders Meeting at 7 p.m.
Thanks for your prayers for these meetings. If you have questions, encouragement,
suggestions, etc. for our church, or if you have something you'd like to discuss or
present at one of these meetings, please share that with the ministry team. Your input
is welcomed.
June 15, Wed.- Youth Bible Study will meet at the church at 7 p.m.
July 25, 27, 28, Mon., Wed., Thurs.-Acts of Love-Summer Lunch Program in
cooperation with the churches of the Cocalico Ministerium providing free lunches to
families in need at Adamstown(?), Denver, Reamstown and Reinholds Parks. Our
church is covering one week of the summer and volunteers are needed to distribute
and serve lunches. This year food pick-up is at Denver Elem. Please sign-up on the
sheet on the table in the church narthex.
-The ew Jim Crow project - Are you interested in learning about why the United
States incarcerates more people than any other country in the world? Do you want to
better understand racial justice in this country? Do you want to examine a Christian
approach to criminal justice? If so, then we invite you to participate in MCC's New
Jim Crow project, which offers Anabaptist study groups, churches and Sunday school
classes the opportunity to learn about mass incarceration in the United States. Using
The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle
Alexander and a Christian study guide, groups are led through educational materials
provided free of charge from MCC.
-I will soon be making a new song leader/offertory schedule for 2016-17. I would
be happy to add some new people to our schedule. Please let me know by June 26 if
you would like to be added or taken off of the new schedule. I appreciate all the
people who are willing to serve in this way. Sylvia
