My service at St. Joseph has come to an end, and

it might seem like we all just go our separate ways. It
feels as if life, ultimately, is all about going our
separate ways. In reality, I believe, there is more to it.
Lets not forget that, ultimately, we are all called to be
together. We are all called to salvation, that is, life
eternal together in the house of the father.
Our time on earth is a time of learning to love
each other, and whether we have learned or not, our
final vocation does not change. In my time at
St. Joseph, I realized that this learning is a complex
process. I was able to discover and mature some of the
gifts God has given me, and also to put them to use for
the good of many in the parish. On the other hand, I
am aware that my limitations also came to the surface,
and that I hurt and frustrated some others. I am
grateful for the great lessons that come from those
who affirmed my talents as well as those who
manifested their discontent with my leadership.
What is important, however, is that the only
reason our lives crossed paths is because we are all
looking for God in our lives and we want to go to
heaven. That is why I became a priest, and that is also
why you come to church at this parish. Otherwise, you
and I would have never come to share three years of
our journey of faith.
In the Gospel this weekend, Jesus comes across
different people, and each one has a different lesson to
learn. I believe we are each one of those people at
different times of our lives. Let us continue our
journey of faith in learning to love each other beyond
our great gifts and unwanted limitations. Let us keep
in mind our common destination. I pray that we all go
to heaven where we will live together, even though we
go our separate ways for now.

Mi servicio en San Jos ha llegado a su final, y

pareciera que nuestros caminos simplemente se
separan. Pareciera que la vida, ultimadamente, se trata
de que los caminos que se separen. En realidad, creo
yo, se trata de mucho ms. No olvidemos que,
ultimadamente, estamos llamados a estar juntos.
Estamos llamados a la salvacin, lo cual significa,
vida eterna juntos en la casa del padre.
Nuestro tiempo aqu en la tierra es un tiempo para
aprender a amarnos, y ya sea que aprendamos o no,
nuestra vocacin final no cambia. En mi tiempo en
San Jos, me di cuenta de que este aprendizaje es algo
complejo. Pude descubrir y madurar los regalos que
Dios me ha dado, y tambin pude ponerlos en prctica
para el beneficio de muchos en la parroquia. Por otro
lado, estoy consciente de que mis limitaciones

muchos otros. Estoy agradecido por las grandes
lecciones que vienen de aquellos que afirman mis

descontento con mi liderazgo.
Lo que importa, sin embargo, es que la nica
razn por la que nuestros caminos se cruzaron es
porque todos estamos buscando a Dios en nuestras
vidas y nos queremos ir a cielo. Esa es la razn por la
que me hice sacerdote y esa es la razn por la que
ustedes vienen a esta parroquia. De otra manera,
ustedes y yo nunca habramos compartido tres aos de
nuestra peregrinar de fe.
En el evangelio de este fin de semana, Jess se
encuentra con diferentes personas, y cada uno tiene
diferentes lecciones que aprender. Creo que nosotros
somos cada una de esas personas en diferentes etapas
de nuestra vida. Continuemos nuestro caminar de fe, y
continuemos aprendiendo amarnos unos a otros ms
all de nuestros grandes talentos y nuestras
limitaciones que no queremos. Mantengamos en
mente nuestra misma meta. Mi oracin es que todos
nos vallamos al cielo donde viviremos juntos, a pesar
de que por ahora nuestros caminos se separen.

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE

An old and still vital treasure in our tradition is a

document called the Apostolic Traditions, giving us
a snapshot of church life in third-century Rome. Its
author, Hippolytus, describes the liturgical life of the
church and records the actual texts of the prayers. The
way he explained the various orders of the church
was the basis for a major reform of the rites of ordination by Pope Pius XII in 1947, and later for the Second Vatican Council. Hippolytus tells us that a bishop
had to be elected by the entire people, and that ordination had to take place on a Sunday in the presence of
the people, the presbyters, and neighboring bishops.
The bishop-candidate is ordained by the other bishops, who impose their hands on his head while everyone else keeps a profound silence, awaiting the outpouring of the Spirit. There is a prayer of blessing
said by one of them, on behalf of all, asking for the
Spirit and describing his ministry.

El ltimo sbado de junio o el primero de julio en

un ayuntamiento de Valcidacos, Espaa, se pone en
escena el Miserere escrito por Gustavo Adolfo Bcquer (1836-1870). Esta obra relata como un msico
llega de noche a la Abada de Fetero pidiendo posada.

More Changes Inside St. Joseph School

Ms Cambios Dentro de la Escuela San Jos
The students have exited the building for the summer. Our teachers packed classrooms into boxes for
summer storage and cleaning. Some grade levels have
relocated to different areas of the building to make it
easier to coordinate multi-leveled activities.
During the past two weeks, teachers practiced
Whole Brain techniques. Their lessons focused on
fluency and vocabulary in both reading and math.
Students participated in a wide variety of activities.
Words of encouragement could be heard as students
worked together on difficult learning tasks.
On Friday, our students left with mixed emotions.
Many students expressed how they wished Boot Camp
would continue for more weeks. Parents were met at
the end of each day with happy students filled with
stories about the busy days.
Teachers will continue to plan throughout the rest
of the summer. They will reflect on our training with
Sean Taylor, the Reading Sage, and the past year.
Creative learning inspirations and situations will be
considered and savored by the teachers until the day
students walk back through the doors in August.
We have openings in most grade levels. If you are
looking for a great learning experience for your children, prayerfully consider the solid foundation students receive from St. Joseph Catholic School. For
