Antonio Palacios Ramilo (January 8, 1872–October

27, 1945) was a Spanish architect, born in O Porriño,


Galicia.
A prolific architect, he is known for his design of the
Palacio de Comunicaciones (Communications Palace) in
Madrid, the García Barbón Theatre in Vigo and many
other works in those cities and places like Mondariz
and Baiona.
He modernized the image of Madrid with some of the
most emblematic buildings of the city:Circulo de Bellas
Artes, Río de La Plata Bank,C Banco Mercantil e
Industrial, Maudes Hospital, and constructed the first
lines of Metro de Madrid, the subway, whose designs
for the entrances still can be seen in the city center.
He built this monastery “Salesas
Reales” in 1942 in Teis near our
school
